I was hit last night by an ATM hacker to the tune of 40k. Coincidently this morning there was something regarding the apprehension of an individual (I think Sri Lankan) who had hacked into banking computers to appropriate information useful in his nocturnal ATM activities. At the time I did not pay much attention to the news as I had yet to discover my loss.

Does anyone out there have any additional info on the apprehension? As of right now my bank is blaming me for the loss and I would like to gather data that would indicate it was the bank who was at fault which could aid me in recovering my losses.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Contact your bank and explain your position.

If your loss is from a Thai bank, take a Thai speaker with you and demand to see a manager. You might have to wait. Don't lose your cool. Explain your predicament clearly.

Let us all know how you got on.
