After-Market Accessories and Parts for Thai built autos

Featured Replies

Hi there

I am wondering if there is a large industry for after-market parts and accessories for Thai built cars/pickups/suvs etc.  The industry has really wrapped up in Australia and while there are some suppliers out there that are obviously running out of Thailand, I am hoping maybe to inquire a little bit deeper and get to the manufacturers themselves as I can buy in wholesale quantities.

Thanks

Huge source of auto bling is made in Thailand, most of it is rubbish though. Plenty locals seem to be making a living using eBay and other online markets but not sure how you could get to their sources. I would imagine this stuff is churned out in hole-in-the-wall shophouses in the likes of Ban Bueng and elsewhere on the eastern seaboard (closer proximity to auto factories). All they need is a cast-off injection molding machine, cheap, QC rejected LED's from China and a presence on FB.

After a dent was put in my Vigo rear bumper l shopped around a bit as it was expensive, found a bling shop that did a pattern chromed bumper for 2500bht fitted, so there is most certainly stuff being copied and made...Whether it is done in China and imported l don't know.

PS. This shop actually had a stainless steel one too, double the price..

How has the chromed one held up?

After a couple of years you could see rust was trying to get-a- hold on the surface, so spent some time polishing it out with my "super"paint polish/wax, it came back near perfect. There is no chrome edge peeling, probably not enough chrome plate to peel...:stoner:

PS. This one now has a dent in it......going to take it off and dress it out some time..

When my parts shop doesn't have what i enquire about and talk to their suppliers in Bangkok they speak Chinese so having that skill may help the OP crack the source of parts:wink:

If you hang out around Luang Road, perhaps you may find out.

This is a street that sell car parts, some shops are wholesalers. I see delivery trucks bring in bumpers and lights to shops, I mean they deliver pretty much daily.

Search 96 Luang Road on google maps.
