Selling cell phone at the MBK.

Featured Replies

Hi.

I am vacationing here in Thailand.

I have been here for a week alrwady.

I have a decent smartphone that I want to sell as I bought here a new smartphone and I have nothing to do with it.

Is there a shop in the MBK centre who will buy my phone?.

Thanks.

New phones with specs rivaling phones that sold for B10,000 just 2 years ago can be had for B3000...the market for used phones, perhaps excluding I-Phones and Samsung Galaxies, has pretty much dried up.

If your phone is a desirable model with great specs and in pristine condition you might get 1/3rd of its resale value from an MBK trader.  Do not expect to get anything close to "retail" value anywhere.

Hi .

Thanks for replying.

Ok I am willing for even 1/20 of the price (200 Baht) as I have nothing to do with it so it's better than throwing it away and getting nothing on it.

But the question is if they will even be willing to give me that.

Again on this website it says my phone's price in Thailand is worth 3951 Bahts.

They peg the value of it at 3951 bahts.

I am willing to sell it for 200 Baht but the question is if any vendor on the 4th floor of the MBK will be willing to pay me even that.

Why not just give it to a "special friend"...or to grandma...or just keep it as backup.

I did not calculate my expenses properly and I am cash strapped st the moment and could use those 200 Bahts for food.

Do you think I will I be able to get 200 Baht for this phone on the 4th floor of the MBK, yes or no?.

Post it on CraigsList..better chance of selling it there.

What is the make and model ?

Goto the nearest temple and ask for some food and water....you could sweep up some leafs  in the temple ground afterwards if you don't like the thought of receiving charity.
