Do my infant boys ( 5 months ) need to physically visit VFS when applying visa ?

Also - do you need to schedule or just walk in ?

Which country are you asking about? VFS act as agents and run visa application centres for many countries in Thailand.

If the UK, then all applicants have to attend the VAC in person to have their biometrics taken and you must have an appointment, which you book at the end of the online application process.

But what is your nationality and that of your boys? They probably have your nationality and if you don't need a visa, neither do they. Just get them passports of your nationality as well as Thai ones (assuming that they are also Thai).

Hi Skippy,   I just recieved a 3mnth OZ visa for my gf.  You can shoot them a email from the website with any questions u may have, they answer it quickly.  No appointment is necessary as soon as u get up you are pretty much served, she just checks documents and doesnt ask any questions.

I am guessing they may need to go to get their biometrics done (fingerprints) at the same time you are handing forms in.

Just make sure you have as much documentation as u can, its on the checklist and photocopies are fine.

All up whole thing took 15mins with a 200bht option to post the visa letter to you.  It took 10 working days.

Goodluck mate.

If you are their father why not get them a passport it's pretty straightforward although you have to apply for citizenship first

we got it fixed up for our daughter last year when she was about 5 months old

you don´t need a visa for an ifant, until your kid isnt 15 years old you will not get any problem

Are you sure?  Thai kids under 15 can just waltz into Australia without a visa?!

Thanks - have not been able to see any evidence of that on the application

They have their own passport - so they can travel to Australia on a Thai passport without a visa ? Sounds strange

As for why not get a Oz passport - personal preference for the time being

Strange indeed.  I would be astonished if it was true!

Yes, they need their photo taken for the Bio-metrics, finger prints aren't required for children under 5

A Thai citizen including children of all ages will need a visa if they are not the holder of a permanent visa, and are intending to travel to, enter, or remain in Australia indefinitely.

Are your kids formally Australian citizens yet?

Thanks again. For certain reasons they will remain Thai for the time being

It is not a matter of remaining Thai or becoming Australian; they can be both.

Thailand allows dual nationality; both my wife and step daughter hold dual Thai/British nationality.

Since 4th April 2002, Australia has also allowed dual nationality in all circumstances: see Dual citizenship.

The reason for asking if they were Australian citizens has nothing to do with your reasons, what passports they hold or if they hold dual citizenship. The reason was if they are Australian citizens their tourist visa's will be denied, and you will have wasted your time and money.

As Australian citizens can't be granted an Australian visa.

Since when ?

They were naturalised as British in 2004.
