Thailand lost 1-2 to Iraq in Asia’s final stage of the World Cup qualifiers on Thursday night (Aug 31) at Ratchamangala stadium.

Thailand had the chance for a goal 2 minutes into the game when Tiratorn Boonmatun passed the ball to Chanathip Songkrasin who passed the ball on to the box but Mongkol Tossakrai was too slow and missed the ball.

Another chance came in the 15th minute when Thirasilp Daengda was fouled slightly outside the box but Tiratorn’s penalty kick hit one of the Iraqi players and the ball was deflected out of the pitch.
