  1. Brother, take a long, hard look in the mirror. if you're staying in a hotel that allows 15 Indians in one room you are no better than a Benidorm Brit.
  2. would you call riding a pony on a beach an extreme sport ? I wonder if the insurance policy lists what are to be deemed extreme sports.. maybe crossing a road on foot in Thailand is also an extreme sport - would seem more dangerous than riding a pony on a beach ?
  3. I’ve been living in pattaya for a few months now. I met this girl on Thai friendly a few weeks ago and we have been dating since then. She told me that she has a regular job and I believed her. A few days ago she said that she needs to go visit her family. Today I was walking on beach road and I saw her wearing a short skirt and high heals. So I went to talk to her and she admitted that she is a freelancer. While we were talking, one of her old customers showed up and started to talk to her. She gave him an offer for short time right in front of me and she left with him. I was standing there like an idiot. It really made me feel like crap. After about one hour later she showed up at my condo like nothing happened. I kicked her out and blocked her. Did anybody here have a similar experience? Are most girls in pattaya freelancers?
  4. Who would spike someone’s drink with heroin and cocaine, and for what? It does not add up, unless the reporting is wrong about which drugs were involved. Perhaps they were simply using recreationally and accidentally overdosed, and then she claimed her drink was spiked when she got to the hospital to avoid being arrested for Class 1 drug use. My guess is that only cocaine was involved, possibly cut with too much fentanyl, and that could be what killed him. Fentanyl might also show up positive for heroin in a drug test. She may also have worried she could be charged with his death if she admitted they had taken the drugs together, especially if the authorities believed she was the one who gave him the drugs. She probably also did not want his clients, family and friends to know that he was taking drugs and overdosed, hence the spiked drink story.
  5. For the sake of those with limited reading comprehension skills, no where in the article does it say they expect others to pay. The GoFundMe was set up by the man's employer, not by the couple. The latter also accept the insurer's decision and have paid out a large sum from their own savings, with no 'begging' off others.
  6. Is that common? To spike drinks with heroin and cocaine? Never heard of that before.
  7. Why did the Benny Hill theme song start running in my head as I read this article?
  8. Coming from the "Land Downunder" we are not known for our generosity in tipping....If at all. Back in Oz, it's not really expected as staff are generally well paid and looked after. But occasionally for outstanding service or assistance Aussie's will tip. But here, I've given, what I think are a few well placed Tips (just peanuts to us really), and all have paid back handsomely. Tha parking guy at a local private hospital I frequent occasionally I gave B20 to a couple of times...and got to park right outside the main entrance. Subsequent visits he moves orange cones to usher me into a prime parking spot. Good investment. Similarly, the guy manning the crosstalk from outside carpark into shopping mall,I give B20 to as I walk past him holding the traffic. He ALWAYS stops the traffic and takes my shopping trolley across the road when ever he sees me . For $A1??? Each time !! The ladies who sweep the footpaths outside the houses in our Moo Baan, in 37deg heat, I always tip....despite the feint protests. Outside our house is spotless! For the young security guys at the entrance to same moo baan, I often buy cans of chilled coffee or 'energy' drinks. They salute as I drive in, many times walk out into the main road to stop traffic so I can turn right and enter. Plus they will order me a taxi if needed, arriving within minutes and explain to the driver where I want to go. The guy who sells bottles of gasoline nearby gets to keep the change any time I top up the m/c. Again, if I'm headed back home, he walks out into the quite busy 2 lane road and stops traffic in both lanes to let me in. I'd often be waiting ages for a break in similar situations unless I did the crazy Thai m/c rider's style and just pull out & Uturn in front of the maniac car drivers. Just a few examples of (very) small money being returned many fold with a smile.
  9. Riring a pony is not an extreme sport. As usual insurance companies weasels out.
  10. The video footage should be used to promote the family friendly image of Pattaya.
  11. Must have been a right Slum to allow that, But hey you were staying there,
  12. So different and absolutely no comparison.........Mueller was a US hero whilst trump is a dumb US coward and a clown. RIP Robert Mueller. Go to hell trump.
  13. I was withholding stating it explicitly because many people already think I'm an ahole, but .... to play devil's advocate I am thinking maybe they took the drugs willingly, and the spiked drink theory is false. Not trying to be disrespectful to the victims, but if I was an investigator on the case, I would consider that possibility.
  14. The arrogance is staggering. A country of 91 million people with over 5,000 years of history being told by a foreign government that it should help choose their next leader is extraordinary even by Washington standards. The last time the U.S. interfered so directly in Iran’s leadership was the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, when the CIA helped overthrow Mohammad Mosaddegh and reinstall the Shah. That intervention destabilised Iran for decades and ultimately helped pave the way for the Iranian Revolution. Now Trump is talking about the U.S. having a role in choosing Iran’s next leader. For a country that constantly lectures others about sovereignty and democracy, suggesting that Washington should decide who leads another nation is breathtakingly hypocritical. Whatever one thinks of Iran’s government, choosing its leader is the business of Iranians, not some rogue administration in Washington.
  15. Thailands image as ' The Land of Smiles ' is quickly being tarnished by these idiots, arriving by the planeload everyday and behaving like animals, the Thai legal system needs to start banning and deporting these scumbags pronto, or risk Thailands tourism industry taking a major step backwards, it seems like theres a new story everyday involving fights, mass brawls, robbery or anti social incidents
  16. I’m not sure if the rules have been tightened, but enforcement definitely has. I feel for the guy, but jumping between a Muay Thai ED visa and a DTV draws attention. It suggests he might be trying to stay on indefinitely, work illegally, or something of the sort. Regardless, I’ve been living here on a Non-Immigrant Retirement visa for ten years without any issues. When it’s time to renew, I bring my lovely wife along. We make sure we’re smartly dressed, and my wife has a bit of a natter with the officers. It’s always sorted within 15–20 minutes, and I always manage to book a slot at Chaengwattana. I don’t foresee any problems with my own extension; I even do my 90-day reports online. But stories like this always crop up and get everyone worried. In my experience, if you just follow the rules and remain polite and respectful, you won't have any trouble.
  17. Seems strange her "spiked" drink took effect same night and his didn't kick in until much later
  18. The same Trump that just got finished saying he doesn’t need the UK’s help. The only sensible response is, you broke it, you own it.
  19. You must stay in some right dumps, says a lot about yourself really.
  20. I used to assume there was at least some basic level of intelligence and cognitive function required to make it all the way to Pattaya from a foreign land. After all, you have to book an international flight, get yourself through airport security, board the correct plane, deal with immigration at the other end, and then somehow manage ground transport from Bangkok to your final Puh-Tai-Ya destination. That seems like a sequence of tasks that would require at least a halfway functioning brain. For a long time I genuinely believed there had to be some minimum IQ requirement hiding somewhere in that process. But after watching the endless parade of characters starring in Instagram clips of fights, group brawls, and crime in general who manage to arrive there every single week, I have started to revise that theory quite dramatically. The place attracts an astonishing collection of knuckle draggers, fugitives, drunks, oxygen thieves, mugs, muppets, industrial strength bell ends, and every other variety of wandering idiot from the UK, Europe, the US, India, Russia, the Middle East, and anywhere else that sells airline tickets. Some of these blokes look like they struggle to operate the zipper on their suitcase or even put on an airplane neck pillow correctly, yet somehow they have successfully navigated international travel and landed themselves on Soi Buakhao with a cold beer in their hand and a well-ridden slapper on their knee. So maybe the real requirements are much simpler than we thought. A passport helps. A credit card also helps. A prescription for Viagra probably does not hurt. The ability to shout “well hello beautiful” every fifteen seconds in a bar is clearly essential. A heroic tolerance for beer before 10 AM is useful. The confidence to chat up a ladyboy without realizing it is a cock in a frock seems almost mandatory. And above all, the unshakeable belief that every girl half their age (or less) who smiles when they saunter by has fallen deeply in love with them in the first thirty seconds. First place "Handsome Man" contest winners, the whole lot of them. When you view it through that lens, it becomes fairly clear that IQ probably never played much of a role in the journey over to the melee in the first place. My bad. 😄
  21. Good call at a time when flights are sky high and being cancelled I no let's put a 300 baht fee on top love it
  22. He can't even pick the right people in his own government.
  23. Trolling early today?🙃🙃
  24. Absolutely sickening. This young woman’s life was taken in the most callous way imaginable, and the fact that he stole her belongings and tried to flee the country makes it even more revolting. No excuses, no sympathy, just hope justice is swift and uncompromising for someone capable of something this cruel.
  25. Stayed at a mid tier hotel in Pattaya a few months back. Adjoining room, noise all night in the room next door. When i went past the room in the morning, there were literally 15 indians guys all sleeping in that one room. Most of them on the floor with a blanket. Crazy how many times i have seen them share a room on such large numbers.
  26. As someone once told me. When you visit the East, you need to turn off your Western brain.
  27. I find it so hard to relate to this couple. The photos are so cringey and seem to scream "look at me, look at me". Naomi's tribute to her boyfriend as "my biggest fan" kind of re-directs attention back to her. Her posting that she is now receiving treatment for grief, PTSD and trauma looks like AI generated for the purpose of the gofundme.
  28. If you guys only had a clue how bad they behave and act in Samui, Phangan and Pai you would have right away signed a paper to deport them. They are also everything but genuine and break every rule, it's like the gaza style behavior.
  29. lock this idiot up, total waster
  30. This is simply terrible on several levels but the sheer incompetence, disregard for her well being and an obvious coverup are at the top of the list. With the internal injuries she suffered she would have been in severe pain and shock and hospitalisation would have been obvious This happened over a year ago. Disgusting. Heads need to roll for this and the family should get as HUGE payout.
  31. If two people are involved in a sex act, it's called a twosome. If three people are involved in a sex act, it's called a threesome. Now I understand why my wife calls me handsome.
  32. "some social media users are urging government agencies to implement stricter measures to curb reckless driving by foreigners in Phuket, citing previous incidents involving non-local drivers" This is one item I don't think anyone can play the race card. I do a lot of riding and see no regard for rules or safety from all skin colours. I've lost count of the amount of times I have seen a pickup upside down on the side of the road with a bemused Thai standing next to it. There is already a Police Force that is more often than not happy to sit and wait around to fine only foriegners whilst Thais ride past breaking all kinds of rules. The other thing to note from the video is it doesn't matter how well you ride and how good your road smarts are. If you think you have got accustomed to everyone running red lights, pulling out in front of you without a care or taking 3 lanes to corner it doesn't matter. When some knob like this comes crashing into you from nowhere you're number is up regardless.
  33. I don't know, I guess his passport says he's Canadian, but his name certainly hints at another nationality. Sad candians are being tarnished for this dirt bag's crime
  34. Amazing how one of the busiest corners of the site is always the political soapbox. Not travel, health, finances, food, or nightlife. Nope, it is the endless political arguments. The same two or three dozen blokes grinding the same gears every single day, writing essays about governments on the other side of the planet while sitting in a rural house or a condo somewhere in Southeast Asia. Half of them left their Western countries years ago, some decades ago, yet they still wake up every morning desperate to argue about politicians who have absolutely nothing to do with their daily lives. The real reason that section is so popular is pretty obvious if you think about it. Most of the soapy diehards are older guys who have quietly run out of enjoyable things to do. The sex drive has evaporated, social circles have greatly shrunk, and hobbies faded away twenty years ago. So what is left? Politics. The perfect topic because it never ends, never resolves, and never requires anyone to agree on anything or admit they are wrong. You can argue about it forever and still feel like you are doing something important while actually achieving nothing at all. So the soapbox becomes a kind of retirement home for restless whiners. No solutions, no progress, just endless circular debates about leaders, policies, and practices at least a 12 hour plane ride away. Meanwhile the sun is shining outside and the world is full of things to do, but instead the day gets spent refreshing the threads and firing off another angry paragraph about a country they no longer even live in. It is not really about politics at all. It is just the last remaining spectator sport for people who forgot to replace the things that once made life interesting.
  35. In an early morning incident on March 5, two naked ladyboys were seen pursuing an Indian tourist along Pattaya Beach Road, reportedly due to a payment disagreement. Witnesses observed the pair shouting abuse and demanding payment for sex services, with one threatening the tourist with a brick. The altercation led to a public disturbance, drawing intervention from local officials and bystanders. Get today's headlines by email According to reports, the argument erupted at 5:06 am when the ladyboys accused the tourist of not paying for their services and physically assaulting them. A video of the chase was captured by a bystander and later provided to the police. Witness Anucha Khotmad, a Pattaya municipal officer, saw the scene unfold and sought assistance from nearby businesses to provide towels for the individuals, aiming to lessen public exposure. Bystanders, along with Anucha, intervened to prevent escalation and reportedly successfully mediated the dispute. The resolution came when the tourist agreed to pay the ladyboys 1,000 baht each. At the scene, neither party pressed charges, and no formal complaint was lodged. Looking forward, the incident highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and disputes along Pattaya Beach Road. Authorities may review measures to prevent similar occurrences and ensure better handling of public disturbances. Continued investigation or legal action seems unlikely unless initiated by the involved parties, reported The Thaiger. Join the discussion? Already a member? 36. You werent the one confronted by a deranged foreigner who already attacked him. Until the criminal is dead or unconscious or in cuffs, he is a danger.
  37. The visa rules must be for everyone. You can't make rules for every single person. Education visas are being abused. There are a lot of "fake" educations where a visa is applied for., but make clear rules. If you study Thai, you can get an ED visa if you can show how you can pay for your stay in Thailand, and the visa will only be given if you study at official recognized institutes. The visa is valid for the duration of your education. every year you have to show your attendance list and your improvement, In fact 3year max. Now I know there are people working fora church don't study anything but have an ED visa. Muay Thai or other cultural educations the same. This story is about 1 person, but as said visa rules should be for everyone, and if they can't meet the requirements it is sadly for the applicant...
  38. A social media post has sparked debate in Phuket after highlighting complaints by hotel and restaurant workers about tourists from three nationalities, with immediate attention drawn to alleged problematic behaviour in the province’s hospitality sector. Get today's headlines by email The Facebook page “Phuket Times ภูเก็ตไทม์” published a poll described as reflecting views from service industry staff in Phuket, asking which nationalities were considered the most difficult in hotels and restaurants. The post claimed that Israeli tourists ranked highest, followed by Indian and Russian visitors, based on reported behaviour from operators. According to the post, Israeli tourists were accused of fabricating claims about lost items in accommodation, but hesitating when police involvement was suggested, saying they would search again first. Indian tourists were described as staying multiple people in one room and being prone to complaints and disputes. Russian tourists were alleged to refuse payment after meals by claiming the food was not satisfactory. The claims quickly gained traction online, with social media users sharing their own experiences and opinions, leading to widespread discussion. The post did not cite formal data or official statistics, but presented the results as feedback from workers in the local tourism and service sectors. The discussion comes amid ongoing scrutiny of tourist behaviour in key destinations such as Phuket, where the hospitality industry plays a central economic role. While anecdotal accounts often circulate online, such claims can influence public perception and potentially affect relations between businesses and international visitors. Industry observers note that social media polls may not represent the full picture and can amplify selective experiences rather than balanced data. However, the viral nature of the post highlights underlying tensions and challenges faced by frontline service staff dealing with diverse tourist groups. Amarin reported that authorities and tourism stakeholders have not issued an official response to the post as of the report’s publication. It remains unclear whether any follow-up actions or investigations will take place regarding the claims made. Picture courtesy of Amarin Join the discussion? Already a member? 39. I switched to an agent awhile back, the majority of my friends use agents, they're incredibly convenient. I use one that's very reliable and I never have to step foot into an immigration office, which dramatically improves the quality of my life. The requirements are more minimal, and it is worth every baht that I spend each year. Granted some of us have a higher tolerance than others for immigration related nonsense. I don't, and for me life is too short to deal with immigration directly.
  40. Statying one hour per night isnt asdequate for a decent sleep
  41. Its what happens if you lean over a balcony whilst being top heavy.
  42. Hotels should install breathalyzer locks to prevent drunks from accessing the balcony.
  43. Disagree with her comments on accomodation, I can find plenty of rooms for 500bht. Agree with her on Thai food, lots of sugar, MSG and oil. Oh, yeah ,,,,,, and there is trash everywhere, but no more than anywhere else in Asia. But thinking she's never been to India.
  44. Am I misreading this? Their flight home is delayed because of war conditions. I understand that. But why is it their 'holiday from hell'? It's not like they are sleeping on the streets, have no food, have been robbed or assaulted, etc.
  45. Excellent point. The majority of the politics being discussed is American politics and the majority of the guys discussing it aren't American.
  46. I bet Trump and his billionaires friends, family and closed allies are making a lot of money
  47. Maybe the Israeli people should also take the opportunity to facilitate change in their own country, it would certainly alleviate many problems in that part of the world.
  48. This never happened to me when I was 15 ,the boys trying to leave, whats wrong with kids today 😁 regards worgeordie
