Nurse on site 24/7. Doctor on call 24/7. Extra security 24/7. PPE for all staff dealing with Test and Go guests. Cost of qualification as SHA Plus+. Loss of other room availability as a complete floor is dedicated to Test and Go. Computer link to Mor Phrom database to enter test results. Just a few thoughts. We don't know the true cost to the hotels, and yes, they will be sticking a bit on if they think they'll get away with it but to say that 2,800 baht is the new 1,000 baht is ignoring a lot of other costs they must have.

PG start sealed route transit flights similar to the Samui sandbox ones from tomorrow (1st February). https://www.bangkokair.com/press-release/view/operate-special-sealed-route-flights-to-support-phuket-sandbox However, I suspect from the OP's comment "I´m flying to Phuket (not a transit flight)" he may not be booked on one in which case it's as you said and he'll need a night elsewhere first.

Proof of legal residence UK
treetops replied to Hami's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No he doesn't. He requires to prove that he is legally entitled to reside in the UK. The question of what to use for this has been asked many times on here and a copy of the passport is the usual answer. That is what I and many others submitted and had visas approved. -

No. Save your money. -
Proof of legal residence UK

I think a valid UK passport is the top of the pecking order as regards permission to reside there, but the Malaysian applicant is another kettle of fish that I don't know about. -

There's a good set of examples accessible in the application process and the max. file size is given as 3 MB. Looking at my example it must have been increased as I reduced my pic from > 2 MB to much less. You'll know if it's OK as there's some sort of automatic check IIRC and I had to adjust the contrast or something like that on mine too. From the application process: -
Yes, they announced the cancellation a while back until around September or October IIRC. Try making a booking on their site and see what alternatives they offer. From the UK they seem to be offering Qatar Airways flights via Doha. If you book these as BA codeshares I expect the voucher would be acccepted. Italy to Scotland may be offered if you try it but may substantially increase the price and might be better booked seperately.

Proof of legal residence UK

As a UK citizen I used the passport on mine after seeing it recommended here on Thaivisa as was and it was accepted OK, albeit a couple of years ago now. It is not referring to a residential address but the fact that you are legally permitted to reside in the UK, which a valid passport does. I don't know what a Malaysian passport holder would supply. They must surely have some documentation permitting them to stay? -
What happened to the 14th? ????

Paper Copy of vaccination status of Thai citizen

Mention your locality and you might get other (better?) options. -
Bangkok Bank New York would appear to skim $10 USD off before they send it to Bangkok Bank in Thailand. Even without that fee Wise would have been better using the figures from my comparison further up the thread. Another poster above has said he has seen smaller differences in the exchange rate, but at the time of writing they were as stated so best to check every time.

Go to the Thailand Pass website and you will see it's open for Sandbox and Quarantine entries, but not Test and Go. It is planned to re-open for Test and Go with 2 hotel nights (and tests) on the 1st February.

Test & Go (2x RT-PCR)
treetops replied to ThaiVisaCentre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your numbers result in a cost for airport transport, PCR Test (and meals?) of 3,300 baht. Could you get them privately for less? -

OK it's not even 7:00 am but I was doing not much else so have worked out some actuals for what's being discussed. Wise - 30K USD gives 997,632.91 THB Bangkok Bank using $30 USD as the originating bank fee and 500 baht as BBL fee. BBL Exchange rate from here: https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Other-Services/View-Rates/Foreign-Exchange-Rates ((30,000-30) x 33.19) - 500 = 994,204.30 THB This assumes no intermediate bank fees and Wise wins. Using the same arithmetic for 2,000,000 THB received (the max Wise will do) also gives a win for Wise. The only way I can see the Bank transfer winning is if you can negotiate something on the exchange rate, which has been reported, but even taking Bangkok Bank up to 33.3 still gives Wise the win at the lower level, although the Bank pips it at the 2,000,000 THB amount. I doubt if any leeway the bank may give on the exchange rate will be enough to make them win in either scenario, but it would need others to say what movement in rate might be achievable to be 100% sure. Let me know if you see anything wrong with the calculations. It is early here!

Paper Copy of vaccination status of Thai citizen
treetops replied to Negita43's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
The Thai person's certificate I have seen was in a mix of Thai and English. All pre-filled headings - Both Thai and English Name - Thai only ID - Arabic (English) numbers only Nationality - Both Thai and English Vac status - Both Thai and English Vac details - English numbers and language except hospital name in Thai. Seem to me the name being in Thai only may be a restriction, but one which could be fixed if you could find the right person to do it. The Mor Phrom International certificate may be different. -
Wise have a comparison section if you scroll down the homepage. For bringing in USD Moneygram usually shows the best deal, beating Wise itself. The same is not true for all currencies, as is the oft used comment that nobody provides mid-market exchange rate or better except Wise. Current screenshot of $5,000 USD transfer costs along with the details of Moneygram fees taken from Wise.com just now. ETA: I don't use them as I don't bring in USD so unaware if there are any pitfalls to watch out for.
