From what I understand, the price difference is just the engine size and 4WD option, is that correct?

Is there much difference in power, fuel efficiency etc?

Thanks

Buy a Pajero Sport and save 500000, ford is so overpriced

That's what I'll be getting rid of, I have a 2011 model with 250k on it.

In the Ranger the 2.2 is ok, but with the extra 400ish kgs and a woman's transmission, I would definitely go for the 3.2.

Sent from my Cray II supercomputer

Thanks for your input, I'll try to get a test drive in both for comparison.

We have the 3.2Ltr MY15 T+ ...Have very recently driven up to Chiang Mai from BK. We did stop overnight at Phitsanulok.

Have to say it really is the vehicle for that journey. So quite, so effortless just a pleasure to drive. It did near enough 12Km/Ltr over the whole journey, most of the time driving 100-110 km/hr.

It would help you if you could test drive the 2.2 and the 3.2 and make your own decision. The problem is that all Ford dealers only have 2.2s for test driving. And my local dealer in Lamlukka would not let me take the 2.2 on the motorway which is only 3km from their showroom. Even though I explained that 90% of the miles I drive are on the motorway/expressway. I will stick with my 5 year old PJS!  You could visit some tents and give a used 2.2 and 3.2 a test drive.

If you're going for the Titanium plus spec then the only difference between the 3.2 and the 2.2 is the engine size and 4WD. I've got the 3,2 4WD and love it. I felt the 2.2 was underpowered as my previous vehicle was a Mazda BT50 3.2. I also wanted permanent 4WD as the roads I use are frequently covered in sand or are flooded. The only negative I have about my 3.2 Everest is that its a bit of a thirsty beast and I average 9.2 km per liter.

Test drives are OK but they are not loaded with people and extra weight, so to me the 2.2 will feel OK on a test run but in actual use could be a different story..

Also in real life the 2.2 is more than sufficient.

Well there have been many posts over the months regarding the two engine options and l recall folk have stated that the 2.2 doesn't cut it when carrying weight, so l take their findings on board..:stoner:

For long distances the pjs may be a better deal. the 4wd can be used on wet roads also. It would match the 3.2 everest in performance, with a saving of about 200K on the purchase price. fuel economy of the pjs will be superior also. I think the 2.2 would be underpowered - at times when you need it like overtaking.

If those posts exist I don't recall them, but I'm sure there will be one or two. But I do know I have a 2.2 BT50 which is fast, loaded and unloaded.

Have you ever driven the 2.2 Everest, Ranger or BT50?

Which is not your claim. Now you may try to deflect, but you claimed the 2.2 does not cut it, which is not true.

Well I have looked at the torque numbers/rpm range between the two...

You stated your 2.2 facts so you obviously tried the 3.2, well that was my thinking.

Sorry if I was wrong...

As I said: you claimed the 2.2 was a slug, not correct. Now you claim the 3.2 is faster, correct.Your first claim is still incorrect.

And I leave it at that.

Tell me where I said it was a slug on this thread, tell me where I said the 3.2 was faster, because I haven't...My input was about usable torque range and folk who have commented........

You talk about it as if it's a sports car - behave....

Or, get the 2.2 2WD (which is supposed to ride better than the 4WD versions) and a Steinbauer chip for about 60k. Then you'll have the performance of the 3.2, with a slighter better drive and better fuel economy.

The Everest is definitely thirsty.

Weight and power (3.2L) can do that.

Mitsu PJS figures look good in the Headlight comparison.

If only they could make the back end a bit more attractive.

We bough our 3.2Ltr from there ... haven't been back!

You could try Ford VPK in Chaeng Wattena ... and we use them for service ...absolutely no complaints ... well almost.

If you can afford it ...never mind comparing ...km/ltr ...top speed etc ...just get the one that suits your needs best ... the one you like best.

If you want real life km/ltr look at www.fuelly.com   you can compare all ....I'm on it

Go to the new review on the trailblazer on that website. There is a more comprehensive list there which also includes the 2.8 fortuner.

Were those figures compiled with just a driver, no load....?
