A thirteen year old girl in Ayuthaya was glad of the local rescue team yesterday after a ring she bought on the internet caused her finger to swell up.

The four medics rushed to the Sena house of Rosarin, 13, and tried to get the ring off a finger on her right hand but to no avail.

So they wedged a spoon under it and cut it off to save her from possible injury.

Rosarin had bought the ring online for 200 baht.

Warnings were made to parents to watch their children with online purchases.
