Residents in Muang district of Sukhothai province were told to brace for flooding today (Oct 8) due to overflowing water from three reservoirs and excess water discharged from the Yom river into the Thalay Luang monkey cheek.

Sukhothai governor Pipat Aekpapant this morning issued flood warning to residents, saying that the three reservoirs, namely Mae Mok, Huey Tha Pae and Huey Mae Soong had overflown due to heavy rain the last couple of days and the excess water has been flowing toward the Muang district.

At the same time, he said water in the Yom river has broken its banks and is flowing toward Thalay Luang monkey cheek.
