Two killed, one injured as truck crashes into house’s fence in Chiang Mai

By The Nation

Two men were killed and another injured when their six-wheeled truck crashed into a fence at a house located on a curved section of a Chiang Mai road yesterday morning.

Police said the accident happened at 7.50am on the Chiang Mai-Fang Road in Ban Mieang Pha village in Tambon Rimnua, Mae Rim district.

Police said the truck was apparently speeding when it lost control on the slippery road following rains and crashed into the fence of the house belonging Siwaporn Kojirawathee, 58.

Siwaporn said she heard a loud noise and came out to see the truck crashed into the fence.

The truck driver, Surasak Chanthasit, 43, died behind the wheel, while Thitiporn Saramool 35, was killed beside him.

Another employee, Witthaya Chartsanga, 28, was injured.

Every time you are a passenger you place at least your well-being in the driver's hands. So drivers need to be aware that they are responsible for the passenger's safety as well as their own. But there you go, that didn't happen here and the result is needless deaths. My sympathy to the families left behind.
