Dramatic footage from the north of Thailand showed a road bridge being swept away in Chiang Mai floods.

Logs in swirling brown flood waters after all day heavy rains meant the end for the bridge in the Ban Huay Thong area of Sanpathong district.

Boonsri Sriboonma posted the mobile phone video on Facebook calling out in anguish as the bridge collapses.

Is not only the water, a lot of peoples cut the trees near the river and let it next to the river, the water takes it and that becomes an obstacle that helps the water to be more strong.

Sad to see.

Another annual "unexpected" flood? :whistling:

Looks like the flood washed the color out of the countryside. I suspect that will return soon.

That's usually a big cause of floods topping bridges and washing them out.

Proper prior preparation might have helped.

And whatever high level water here will go south to other areas and help inundate them with the other connected rivers. Looks to be a bigger flood season now. Sanpathong is pretty fairly close.
