Earlier estimates from the report from October 1, 2016 – October 31, 2017 showed that there were only 142 foreigners in criminal cases who were charged but not sent to the immigration.

I guess the rest bribed their way out of it !

That presumably excludes all the Sth Asian girls manning kiosks in a large Patong shopping mall. Several Western foreigners accosting people and acting as beauty cream shop sales in a large Mall not in Patong are also filling jobs reserved for Thai nationals. The many restaurants and shops employing illegal Burmese staff and so on.....Nothing will ever change.

Inflammatory posts, posts in all caps and replies to them have removed. A repeat of will result in formal warning.

And you know this how?

They are probably 'workers'. When you see what you think are Thais doing menial work such as  builders labourers or the many hundred workers in Super cheap Phuket a few years ago, they are not. My Thai girlfriend told me "not Thai, they are Laos or Myanmar or Indonesian.

Wonder why ????

“Some cases only have fines such as riding motorbike without helmet/license or drink and drive. For these cases, the foreigners were fined and released back and there is no need to send them to the immigration.”

Perhaps it's all in one's interpretation of crime

Rofl. Why hahaha

I am sure they just run out of ink to write the report.   :sorry:

Many may have had less than 90 days overstay so simply paid fine and got a visa or left and came back on visa exempt.

Yes . . . 2,415 criminal cases, minus the 685 immigration 'referrals' means that 1,730 were not referred to the IP. How is it then that the 'Earlier estimates' indicated only 142 as the not referred figure? Someone, be it station superintendents, sergeants or mere officers has been telling lies on a Titanic scale that just confirms the already widespread view that the RTP is rotten to the core, without the slightest regard for the truth or the simple ethic that lying is wrongThe TRUTH is that lying is endemic, within the force, almost as if the ability to lie with a straight face is a requirement for entry.

Welcome to America's headache.

If 20 million is just a "headache", 2000 isn't even noticeable.  Still, it's probably enough to revive that joyful Thai holiday tradition of random street stops & urine tests...

Lying is a cultural norm. It is not just the police. Lying is usually about gaining, either monetary or face and it is so embedded in the culture that sometimes it just is. My observation after more than 10 years in The Kingdom.

It`s not all about money and corruption. It is because there is no coordination between the different police departments. There are no proper systems installed and no communications between the the police and the immigration police. One half dosen`t know what the other half is doing = no organisation and chaos.

It's not a problem in Oz, as you know the illegals are turned back.   Those with visas have full medicals before arriving.

Now we know why Phuket police are the wealthiest!

Plenty of brown envelopes exchanged then.

It's not hard to wonder why ??  No money is this for anyone so result nothing gets done,  hahahahaha go figure

Got a great idea from somewhere or some idiot ? build a wall .

You all know police work ,,,,,, no money not interested
