Does anyone have a Himedia H8 Plus tv box? Is it any good? I see it at Tukcom for 3990b

What about the Norbi M8S Pro Amlogic S912 Quad Core Android 6.0 Box 64bit 3GB DDR4 SDRAM + 16GB EMMC FLASH 2.4G/5G Wifi? Is it any good? I see at Tukcom for 4000b.

Looking to buy a good tv box preloaded with lots of goodies.

Never heard of Norbi m8s Pro but it looks the same as the Mecool box. Amazon reviews of the Norbi box seem to be low.  Norbi probably lacks support and firmware updates, like the mecool box.

Himedia H8 Plus is OK, a little old and on android 6. Have a look at the Himedia Q5 pro which has better support and updated firmware android 7 and there is an active forum.

Preloaded? not necessary as all could be done by yourself by watching a few you tube vids.

The Q5 is quad(4) core the H8 is octa(8) core - so the H8 should be faster. At Lazada most Q5 boxes advertise android 5.1, about 4390b+ and the H8 around 2490b+.

Do you mean the H8 or the H8 Plus?

H8 octacore and H8 Plus are on android 5.1, Rockchip 3368, last firmware update in March 2017 and I think will not receive anymore updates from Himedia. There are no forums of which I know which support those devices.

As with most android TV box devices they are stuck at around 1.5 to 1.6 GHz and I do not think there will be any noticeable speed difference between devices.

Have you considered the Himedia A5, newer device with android 6 and amlogic 912 chip.

On the website ''the streaming blog''  you can find reviews and compare the Himedia and other devices. The Himedia Q5 pro is a better performing device according to them, has more support, firmware updates (android 7 now) and has an active forum on Futeko.

Take a look also at the website iplusstudio here in Bangkok, generally the devices they stock are the ones which are sort of reliable, then you could find a good price on lazada.
