Hi all,

HAVE A LAUGH....

A guy in Thailand is advertising Ride on mower engines for sale, (Second Hand). I rang to get a price, as you all know i am looking for one. The engines are priced at 1000 Baht per HP...so the 21HP i was interested in was 21000baht ...and dont forget these are second hand. So I asked about the 19HP single cylinder...Yep 19000 baht.

That 19hp engine, brand name,  was less than that to buy NEW !!!

Where the hell do they get their prices from? he will still own those engines in 5 yrs time, but the price wont change....Amazing !!!

Ah yes wegee, but in five years time demand will have increased and brand name prices will also have increased, he'll feel like George Soros when he finally sells it in 2022 for the original asking price.

And the day after, he'll have no money and be broke again.

@weegee, if you're in Bangkok, have a look at the back of Chinatown. Baan More if I can remember around the klong. Have many interesting little shops selling motors etc.

Years ago I bought my first mower there: a nice Honda mounted on a big blade ...so much for OH&S.

Cant believe it actually....selling a motor (second hand) more than the price of a NEW engine...

$800 AUD for a engine (second hand) that you can buy off the shelf NEW for $700 AUD, approx...

I've watched auctions online for 2nd hand items in U.K, regularly exceed new price or at least get very close !!

There will always be someone, who doesn't do their research, to buy inflated price goods...
