An "up and coming" district official in the north eastern Thai province of Loei was found dead in his car from a single gunshot to the head yesterday.

Natthawut Srikasem, 31, had been on his way from Na Duang district to City Hall in Loei for a meeting about drugs.

Police found his Honda City car off the Na Duang to Loei Road between kilometer markers 21 and 22. There were skid marks on the road.

All doors and windows were locked. Nattawut had been shot in the right temple with the bullet exiting the left side of his head and going through the car's roof.

A 9mm gun on the floor had been fired once. It contained one more bullet.

Colleagues said he was an up and coming district official who had passed his exams about a year ago and transferred to the Na Duang office in April. He was still single.

He had complained of feeling sick and said he was going to see a doctor before going to a meeting about drugs at the City Hall in Loei.

His colleagues believe he was probably inspecting his gun when it went off as he was driving.

The body was sent for autopsy.

Bizarre.

Had this been a farang, it would have been suicide, case closed, and paperwork already filed in the "solved" cabinet.

Inspecting his gun while driving along the road ? :coffee1:

He thought he could multi-task.

Off course it´s a tragic accident. He probably also in postume entity form provided evidence that he was doing something with he´s gun while driving.

Perhaps Russian Roulette. Shot in the temple is not likely to be the way to

inspect any gun

Geezer

Bizarre Country, bizarre people, bizarre behaviour and bizarre ending !

They need to check his hands for gun powder residue.

I could understand.

I'm always inspecting my gun when driving.

just a mistake.

Sounds like an investigation would be far too time consuming and require way too much effort. An accident would be difficult to believe the gun would be pointed toward his temple in the process of inspection.
