Two people were killed but a two year old survived after a pick-up collided with a motorcycle in Pathum Thani on Thursday.

The Isuzu was coming down a bridge on the Pathum - Tiwanon Road near the B-Avenue housing estate. The pick-up hit a Honda Click dragging the driver and pillion passenger 100 meters down the road.

Then there was a collision with a parked Nissan March that ended up on the footpath and a Toyota Altis.

Dead at the scene were Santi Wongsaming, 62, who was found under the pick-up and pillion rider Deuan Khantha, 55, who was dead nearby.

A two year old on the bike called Siphatsorn Wongsaming survived with non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Pick-up driver Sorawit Bunthep, 30, said he was taking filters from Pathum to Nonthaburi. He claimed the bike came out fast on the left and cut in front of him. He was going fast and was unable to brake in time.

He was detained for further questioning.

Speeding on one side, reckless manoeuvers on the other...another road tragedy, another feeling of a tragic déjà vu.

Rip.

So had it not hit the parked vehicle it would have dragged them further.

How awful....

Unable to brake in time, what utter BS, after 100m one can say he was unable to brake at all!

you can see where this was heading, he was trying to make his getaway, but could not get rid of the bike and those poor victims, utter scum

Clear example of not driving to road conditions....

always hear couldn't brake in time is the same as driving too fast...

driver is responsible even if bozo pulled out in front...can determine truck speed based on carnage distance....

He was going too fast, I guess well beyond 80 km/h.These pick-ups are a real menace driving like mad on busy roads.

I disagree.

Not the pickups are a menace on the road, the "drivers" are!

Have to agree,no way would you drive on for 100 meters unless this is what you were trying to do,the fact the he hit a parked car was probably all that stopped him.

Yep, keep it up and Thailand will be No.1...er sorry aren't they already No.1? What an horrific accident (yeah I know, none of them are pretty), smashed and dragged. My condolences to the families.

Just another typical day in Thailand I suppose, dragged them 100 mtrs !,

he should be done for murder, now little kid with no parents, its not just

the people that are killed, but it affects whole family members, dont

honestly know what they can do to stop the carnage, seems like its

become a way of life.

Regards Worgeordie    Merry Christmas

Given the ages cited, it’s probably more like the kid is left with no grand parents.... but that means nothing at day’s end, with bodies smeared across the road.

and yes, arguably the bike rider should be charged with dangerous driving causing death, for recklessly entering the main carriage way, which should only be done when safe (which clearly it was not), but as he’s dead, I suppose karma has already punished him

this is just another accident to lay at the feet of the transport ministry or police, for enabling Thai road users to drive as they wish, with almost complete impunity.... and until this changes,  the carnage will continue.

You're right Worgeordie but to nit pick ......carnage is a way of death. Sorry, I agree with you but the last word life caught my attention.

Hope you have a good safe Christmas too .

Thailand, Asias number one country, so carnage is the new word as corruption is so old hat.

 RIP to those killed.

Geezer

Gawd, this is getting to be such old repititious news.

There must be a “Top Ten List” of neglegent driver excuses that can be posted...

All in a day's work  RIP

Unfortunately, nothing will be done
