"Normal" nightclubs in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello everyone, coming with a friend to Pattaya for a few days and we were looking for a place to meet normal thai people and asian tourists.

I searched on internet that there are some places on 2nd road such as Differ or Hollywood.

On Walking street it seems that The Pier club is mostly frequented by Thais.

Any comments or suggestions?

Differ and Hollywood are both Thai clubs.  I would not say they are places that are that easy to meet other people.  Most people stay at their tables in their own groups.  The music is VERY loud so it is hard to communicate.  But the majority will be Thai so give it a shot.

Thais love to eat at restaurants.  Walking down Naklua road from Dolphin circle towards Naklua may yield better results.  The further you get towards Naklua, the higher concentration of Thais and Thai restaurants.  People are generally pretty friendly and polite in this setting.

Hollywoods is a good night out. No cost for admission but you buy a bottle of Vodka or Whiskey and you get shown to a table. Live Music, Cabaret, DIsco, mostly Thais or Asian visitors. Worth a visit.

Hollywood is great.  Differ is good too,  2 new night clubs opening in Avenue Mall, Ellui and Muze.  The Pier is the best on Walking Street.  Leave places like iBar/Insomnia, Lucifer, 808, etc. to guys looking for Thai girls for the night.

If you like Hollywood and Differ it seems that you do not know what is good electro music...

Sorry, I didn't know that in 2018 some people from western countries go to clubs to listen to live bands.

I was thinking that only Asian and especially Thai do not know what is the purpose of a club.

But I can understand that some older western guys are too old to understand electronic music.

No need to be a patronising a r s e . If I want to see a bit of Thai entertainment With predominantly Thai people I go to Hollywood. If I want to go to listen to dance music I'll go to Marine/insomnia.

Horses for courses. It's got sweet fa to do with age.

You are right, drunk Thai people are the most interesting folks to meet :-)

Drunk expats are even more of a treat.

I would recommend Hollywood, its a great place. As others have said, normal Thai people, Koreans, Chinese etc. Great Bands, floor shows and dance music. Its worth it just for the eye candy, I have never seen so many cute Asian girls in one place.

Warning: They dont play hotel California (for the 127th time) and the patrons dont wear singlets.

The OP is looking for "a place to meet normal thai people and asian tourists" and has not sought any advice on musical genre.

The OP isn't looking for a club where the jaded 'resident tourists' in search of decent "electro music" go to complain either.

That one went quite a long time ago. The clubs are further out, mostly along the north-end of Third and off the north-end of Second (loads of Korean venues) and around the southern-end of Naklua.

Do you speak conversational Thai? "Normal" Thais, whatever that means, often don't speak conversational English.

Freelancers, on the other hand, usually do.

We are not talking about somewhere in a rice field.  We are talking about Pattaya, an international tourism destination.  Most everyone knows English because their job requires them to.  And they teach english in school to the kids, so your info is quite dated.

Check out BONE Pattaya. Been there twice, only with one friend and it was really fun. We were probably the only farangs there but people were really friendly. Both times some random groups invited us to join them. I'm not sure if it's a night club that's always open or events only.

The Thai oriented Clubs and Discos or Pubs on say 3rd Rd often have violence due to some ego dispute.

I don't see why you wouldn't try the Walking St ones like Insomnia, Mixx etc. Not my cup of tea but seem to be popular with all nationalities.

Less cockroaches and rats outside of WS.

Insomnia and Mixx are "freelancer" hunting spots, also Hollywood, but targeting Koreans.

Differ and Bone are the "normal" clubs.

I've been told the best club is NAB , but it's a gay club so never went there but I believe its mixed as well. Location in North Pattaya.

The walking street clubs and walking street in general is fun to show to your tourist friends visiting Thailand first time etc. but the girls in those clubs are mostly 90%+ prostitutes. In the Thai style clubs it's nice to meet "normal" locals and girls. Of course it helps if you can speak Thai and don't look like a tourist.

Speaking as one that has been in a situation with Thai people that did not speak English IN PATTAYA I can safely say 'tis you that is in error.

Frankly, your theory that everyone in Pattaya is involved in the tourism business is so way off that it is in orbit around Mars.

There have been countless threads bemoaning the FACT that Thai kids don't learn to speak English in school, so ...................................................

Also fact, the Thais that go to clubs that are not freelancers may not have anything to do with the tourist trade in any way, shape or form.

Freelancers of course will usually speak English.

Have a nice day.

Given the OP is asking for just such establishments to visit, perhaps you can enlighten him, and us, as to where such may be found in Pattaya.
