Underground tank. Will be lifting water max 3 meters, however I may have to place the pump 30 meters from supply,  pulling it horizontally no extra lift.  Hitachi WM-150XS, rated at 8 meter lift, 13

 meter discharge head.

Your thoughts.

Thanks

Technically the horizontal distance doesn't count as any extra head would only come from friction . If concerned just use one size bigger 1/1/4 pipe and bush down at the pump.

Theoretically, the maximum height you can suck water up to is 9,3 metres. An efficient pump, all things being equal, will generally manage about 8 metres. The horizontal distance, providing you have a large enough bore pipe, does play a minor role but you shouldn't notice a big difference between 13 metres and 30 metres.

Best post.

...so how many 500ml bottles of water will that take to prime 30 + 3m of pipe.

Asking for a friend.

On 1" pipe, non if you have a decent foot valve, around 30 starting from MT pipe.
