Dentists in Nakorn Ratchasima have given a new lease of life to a poor and deaf local woman.

Thai Rath posted before and after pictures of Wilai Tandaeng, 47 from Nong Jaeng Yai sub-district.

District chief Praphatthapong Phromnee said that his authority had helped the family with repairs to their house because of the abject poverty of the family.

But in addition local dentists had given free treatment to Wilai who had protruding upper teeth. She is also deaf and has a leg handicap.

He said that the dental work on her whole mouth had given Wilai renewed confidence and she is now happy and more communicative and looking forward to the rest of her life.

Wonderful, but such a shame it took so long to happen.

Agreed, she must to feel like a new woman.

What a transformation. Well done to those dentists as that would have involved a number of (expensive) procedures. A new lease of life for this poor woman.

This is more my idea of how society should be functioning. Too bad others don't share their good fortune this way.

Suppose you had 25 watches that didn't cost you a single baht of hard currency. Why not pass a few along to the needy? Just saying.

That's funny. Based on the title of this thread, I thought her deafness was being cured by new teeth.

Good for her anyway.
