Wife stabs husband, sets fire to Bangkok house

A jealous wife quarrelled with her husband before stabbing him in his sleep and setting fire to a townhouse in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district late on Tuesday night, police said.

 

Firefighters took about 10 minutes to put out the blaze at the two-floor townhouse on Soi Phaholyothin 44 Branch 8 in Sena Nikhom sub-district.

After the fire was extinguished, the firefighters found Phon Punhom with a knife cut on her right wrist. She was rushed to hospital.

 

The house owner, Sudjai Punhom, 50, told police that his wife called him at 10pm saying that Phon, their daughter-in-law, had allegedly stabbed their son, Surat Punhom, 23, while he was sleeping. Surat was taken to hospital by his mother after the attack.

 

Sudjai said Phon and Surat quarrelled when he returned home after drinking with friends.

 

Sudjai said Phon apparently slit her wrist and set fire to the house after she stabbed her husband.
