Does anyone know of the cost of a new roof in Buriram? Haven't got the measurements yet but just average size home.

Cost of a new roof in Buriram Province Thailand. It is a loaded question. The choice of roof material, the choice of roof support and who is going to install the roof. The OP need only walk into a Home Mart and sit down with the SCG roofing specialist or walk in the Blue Scope metal roof dealer near Chang International Racing Circuit rear entrance. No shortage of BK metal roofing dealers in Buriram Province. You could speak English, French, German or Thai with Diamond Roofing employees in Buriram. Both CPAC and Diamond have actual roof installation teams. In Buriam you can see the professionally installed roofs on both one story homes and larger two story homes near Robinson's Lifestyle Mall at Lively Home Estate.  Both SCG CPAC and Diamond can make a written quotation if you go in person with your house plans. The slope of your roof can limit your roofing material choices. The less slope the less choices you have. The slope minimums are printed in any CPAC or Diamond roof tile catalog. Metal roof can be installed at a lower initial cost on roofs with less slope.  Terracotta roof tiles are available in Buriram province.

A basic concrete roof tile costs about 22 baht, installation cost in some areas can be 100% of the roof tile cost.

 

A TVF member reroofed her (average sized)  house recently using colourbond (steel), as I recall the cost of material was circa 76k++

 

If I remember correctly, the steel patterned and coloured roof, with bonded insulation (e.g. Santhai ??) costs about 100-200 baht per square metre. Installation extra. Cost further depends on whether you will replace the existing (steel?) supporting structure.

Just did mine, 80k

3rd roof in about 15 years. This time I did it with my son, and had some help a couple times. The fist time I had concrete shingles, well the house started to buckle upstairs because of the weight (wood pillars), changed it to a lighter fiber/cement type board. These cracked in half, left large openings every where and heated up just as bad as the cement ones. My upstairs is wood. This time I bought sheet metal that is cut to length, and has insulation glued underneath it. I had to notch the "hip" by hand with snips by, also I had to notch another section and use the cutting wheel on a angle grinder quite a bit. I don't think Thai people notch, I got some weird looks when I explained what I planned to do. I'm very happy as it is completely dark on a sunny day in my attic, I chose white color, and have noticed the sheet metal does not heat up that much. I'm not a roofer, and this was my first time with this.

If you do this type roof, and you want to notch it I can explain in more detail on where to make the cuts. I had to learn on the job :-) I bought the steel from startech. They came out and measured my roof. They were right on the money with the amount of panels and lengths I needed.

The roof covers around 170m2 of ground.
