Infant left in garbage bin outside Bangkok temple

A newborn girl was found abandoned in a garbage bin in front of a temple in Bangkok’s Bang Kae district on Thursday, with the news triggering a flood of offers to adopt her.

 

Jirapa Chindanurak posted photos of the baby on Facebook, saying her sister had found the infant in front of Wat Boonyapradit on Buddha Monthon 2 Road.

 

Jirapa said the baby was in a plastic shopping bag placed in a garbage bin.

 

By noon Friday, 21 hours after it appeared, her post had been shared 117,900 times and drawn 94,000 reactions.

 

Jirapa said a many people had expressed interest via Facebook in adopting the girl.

 

For now, she’s in the care of Ratpipat Hospital.

 

Jirapa said Pol Capt Passakorn Chaisiri, deputy inspector of Lak Song police, was trying to track down the mother or father, who would face charges of endangering a child.

Hopefully someone will adopt her and give her the love and care she deserves. 

I wouldn't be surprised if this was yet another teenage pregnancy where the real mother is just too infantile to be a real parent. 

Sad story but don't charge the mother she need help for depression that was we do in my country

How many babies were simply thrown away this year already? Another Thailand No. 1 ranking in the making?

Look closely at the picture. Judging by where her feet are, she must have a very long body. Maybe I am seeing this wrong.
