Save The Children Urges Action on Child Road Deaths in Thailand
Well at least in Thailand they have bridges for people to cross the road. In Vietnam you're just supposed to cross the road and hope you aren't killed. In Hong Kong they issue fines for people crossing the road without a green man. In many Asian countries the green man means nothing. If Thailand started enforcing the rare places where motorbikes are not allowed on pavements it might be a place to start. I can understand why the Japanese have given up going abroad, everywhere else apart from SG is like hell if you're used to their pavements and road users. -

That's why I said that this would only work if the departments would be watched by an INDEPENDENT party who would have a say on the decision and has the power to file a court case against them. An "OMBUDSMAN" like we have in Europe. I was 5 years ago required to pay a tax in my country which I refused. The tax office treatened with "Foreclosers", taking my Pension, etc... I braught the case to the attention of the Ombudsman and a week later the case was cleared in my favor. There are many examples on how they handled bribery in Europe succesful. I also menionned a public magazine, "Test aankoop", which is fully independent and they have private lawyers who handle cases of bribery or Scam and most of these cases are closed succesfull. That's the only way out of this misery for Thailand. The whole thing starts only when users (parents) have enough of this sh*t and starts to take the law in their own hands. If a school organise a field trip and the bus is not adequate, don't send your children to that field trip until the school look for adequate transport!!! -

Thanks I’ll check the Facebook group. So this mg ZS EV is from 2022? And it’s the latest model? On the mg website it’s confusing as it says new mg ZS EV but I’m guessing that’s the one that’s not out yet? do you recommend the MG ZS EV? Finally we rent a house in a Moobaan, would there be any reason the landlord wouldn’t want us to install a wall box charger? is the MG ZS EV the same as the petrol version just EV? -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Not especially informative but a couple of tidbits in there that may give some clues. And a second one that I've not seen before, from Siam Legal dated a month ago, a few interesting points in there, not least of which being when foreigners need to file a tax return. The relevant slide starts, "A Foreigner shall file a tax return if: Bear in mind, this is from Siam Legal. -

He's a total idiot and a good example of everything not to do here. He paid for the bar start up, nothing was i his name but his partner's who soon chopped him out, then he started e begging as a victim when the money ran low. -

I had a quick google and it seems almost all or all states require ID to register. Many require ID to vote. When I vote in Australia I provided ID to register - but don't need to provide ID when I vote - but they cross my name off and check that I don't vote more than once. No issues with fraud in Australia. Not sure if there is a factor I am missing. -

if you type your start/end points on google maps, it will show how to get there if possible, it knows road closures. about your last point, very true - not just for restaurants but all kinds of businesses. btw, not only power cuts, now they cut also running water to about 0.5M residents. Nobody knows how long for. -

ICE vs EV, the debate thread
I don’t think China is dumping EV’s in Thailand, because there is in no way parity between the prices in Thailand, even after huge discounts compared to the prices in China. The prices in China are massively higher than the prices in Thailand, even after the discounts.
