i see the Thai talk to provoke the US guy and even see hands towards him. I don't believe nothing happened thats make the America guy just attacked him.

Why would a Thai "assault" a random man in the middle of busy airport? It's never happened

to me, or anyone I know. Hotel and taxi touts generally take my "no thanks" with good grace.

Complete idiot, the farang. Lucky he did not crack the skull of the Thai. The Thai should be compensated AND the idiot should be locked up for a few weeks.

I really hope he will be locked like you said for a few weeks, I cannot find any excuses for such a behaviour. The way he throws the Thai man on the ground look like someone who knows how to fight an "amateur" would never do that!

Why wouldn't he do this in his own country? In most countries, if a person does what the Surasak did here (push a stranger in the chest), they risk a beating. If it was me I might have just pushed him aside, but if you do that to the wrong person you could cop a beating, anywhere.

Are you joking he was not even facing him and certainly did not "push him" But OK he  did that to a mad dog with a sick ego, following your comment anything could justify this kind of madness, a simple look, ah yes true, one should know if you look bad the wrong person you could cop a beating anywhere!

It was absolutely disproportionate and disgusting!

No, I am not joking.

You really should calm down and take a deep breath, and read what you're replying to before spouting off. I was not discussing what was deserved or appropriate. I too believe the actions he took were way over the top. I said things like this CAN happen (as opposed to WILL happen) anywhere in the world if you put your hand on someone's chest (pushing or just touching is irrelevant - it is still a form of aggression, apart from being condescending and rude). It was suggested in the post I replied to that this could only happen in Thailand. That's the point I was debating.

If you don't believe this, then walk around in any public place, anywhere in the world, placing your hand on stranger's chests. Sooner or later you WILL cop a beating. How serious that beating will be will depend on the person you're touching. This particular incident came out worse than expected because he broke his arm when he fell.

It sounds like the airport needs some safe zone/comfort rooms for offended and stressed people. Maybe equipped with cuddly toys and anger management dolls.

Good idea. If they can offer prayer rooms & smoking rooms why not offer frustration rooms ????

What's her religion got to do with it? If there were any 'just' god in the universe, attacks like this (and worse) would never happen anyway.

if you are suggesting without religion or with just one god in the world therd be no aggression/fighting??

catholoics vs protestants . = . both believe to jesus and pray to jesus . yet kill each other

suni and shiite muslims both worship allah . yet kill each other

Some crap being posted about this,

if anyone puts a hand on you unwarranted then it will provoke a reaction, now without knowing what exactly happened before the VT clip starts I can only comment on what I see and plainly the Thai man put his hand on the US guys sternum, myself I think I would have at least pushed him off instantly with a hand, but if really pi$$ ed off at the time I may have (without thinking) One arrowed him, especially in this day and age, it may have been a ISIS nutter with a kitchen knife etc, nope in a public place anyone crossing me like the Thai on the vid then I am going to do something, those who are saying hang the US guy high - throw away the key? Poor old Innocent Thai bloke, mmm?

Interested to know what you would do, invite him for a cup of tea, break some bread... lol

Oh and I am not a bone specialist but normally don't they place a broken arm in a cast? Seems his is heavily strapped with bandages and in a sling. I'd wager bruised from the fall and weight of both on it, hopefully stop him attempting to stop other tourists by force in the future.

What's with all the psycho yanks on here that say if someone touches you in any way you can batter them? Is that actually in the legislation over there?

"Well the guy put his hand on my chest so I broke his arm."

"OK. That sounds totally reasonable and proportionate.  No jail for you!"

No wonder you all carry guns and the cops shoot you for looking at them the wrong way. You're mental.

Did you see the video? The Thai had his 30 baht board, the gringo had his hands in his pockets, the Thai had his forefinger in the guys chest. Whatever the Thai said after being body slammed is here say until collaborated. Fact is neither party was right. Gringo over reacted and Thai most likely has been and will be beatdown in the future. Gringo should get the same punishment as a Thai would if some punk attempted to make him " lose face " . Not likely and the gringo should have thought about that.

I do not know who is right or wrong, but as someone who has broken his arm a couple of times, I do not see how the Thai broke his arm.  A bruised elbow.  If I was the American I would demand to see X-Rays before paying for damages.

Actually just a bit of tough love. The Thai assaulted the guy with his arm/hand and the guy broke his arm for him. He ended the situation quickly and just maybe the Thai will think first before poking people and avoid the next beatdown. Thai guy also needs to drink more milk, he's got weak limbs.
