Water bills payment

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me how I can pay my water bill online?

I looked into Bangkok Bank website but they don't have an option for PWA which stands for Provincial Water Authority in Chiang Mai.

They have an option for Metro Electricity Authority to pay our electricity bill but not for water.

You have to get a form from PWA , fill it out, then take it to the bank, have then fill out their part and then take it back to the PWA office. This will set up an auto debit from your account for each months bill.

The problem is that the bank will charge 10-20 baht for every deduction.

I don't know why the water authority don't have a website for internet payment at this internet age.

Going to 7-11 or Tesco to pay will incur extra charge too.

I just went to the bank today to ask, the officer told me there is a charge.

The online transactions done by ourselves are different from the monthly automatic deductions it seems.

I've had both the water bills and electric bills paid automatically from my account at SCB for years.  I've always been charged 10 baht by SCB for each automatic payment of the water bill (which almost never exceeds 100 baht) and, prior to sometime in early 2016, was charged 5 baht per time for automatic payment of the electric bill (since then, there's been no charge for automatic payment of the electric bill.....and I don't know if that's a software mistake or an actual change of policy).

Regardless, given I'm gone several months each year (and probably even if I wasn't), the convenience is worth the 10 baht ($0.32) charge per month. Even if/when the water or electric companies set up their own online payment system without any extra charge, I'm doubtful I'd change what I'm doing as currently I don't have to do anything or worry about the bills being paid.
