US Navy introduces 'first gender-neutral submarine.' What could possibly go wrong?
"Someone with no clue" just did a Google search and found the following language: "The first female officers reported to Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines in 2011, just one year after the ban on females on submarines lifted. [3] Then in 2013, the Navy announced plans to start training female enlisted sailors for service onboard submarines." So I guess in your world, "decades" refers to a perios of time between 2011 and the present. Bet you don't feel so smug now, wokie. -

Brawl on Bangla Road, Transgender Woman Assaults Tourist
Let's get something out of the way first: don't ever tell me I need to be quiet again. Your posts have a thuggish, loud-mouthed, and condescending tone which in all likelihood explains your poor community rating. I suggest you work on this going forward. Talk about drivel. What do any of the above factoids have anything to do with racial attitudes by Thais towards Indians and Middle-Eastern tourists? Answer: absolutely nothing. If anything, you make the case for how well these communities are integrated into Thai culture. You tell me I need to shut up, and then proceed to pompously "school" me about the cultural and religious ties between India and Thailand? Indo-China. Hello? Thanks for the elementary school geography lesson. You're the one who needs to give me a break, buddy. I do not believe there are these smoldering animosities between the Indian community and Thais, and all of the examples you cited above about their integration into the Thai business community only serve to support this contention. I never said that all racial or cultural tensions between Thais and Indian and Middle-Eastern tourists in red-light districts could be traced solely back to the white ex-pat community. In fact, I acknowledged that to a certain degree these tensions probably do exist. I think these tensions might have to more with them being less affluent, holding less promise of a better life back in India, and being less susceptible to falling under the spell of a doe-eyed bar girl than a fresh-off-the-boat tourist from the West than it has anything to do with personal hygiene or fear of being gang-raped after being lured back to the hotel. And let's not forget the white ex-pat community's reputation in these areas isn't exactly pristine, now is it? And just while I'm on the subject of body hygiene, from what I've seen most of those Indian and Middle-Eastern men are younger and more physically fit and probably more enjoyable in the sack from the standpoint of a working girl, than someone with a huge beer belly, toe fungus, and a mouth full of rotting teeth. Can I get an Amen from my brothers in Mumbai? All I was saying is that in my close to 40 years of coming to Thailand, I have observed a great deal of prejudice directed at the Indian and Middle-Eastern communities from the English speaking on-line community and the inculcation of these racial attitudes have at the very least helped legitimize, normalize and as I said I suspect in some cases have helped create a climate where mistreatment of these tourist groups is more tolerated, if not subtly condoned, than it would otherwise be. Over the years, I have also seen multiple examples of white expats indoctrinating and encouraging their Thai girlfriends and wives and other acquaintances to share their racial prejudices towards racial groups, whether you're talking about Indians, Middle-Eastern, Chinese, Africans, crying into their beers about the great replacement theory and how demographic changes make it unlikely they will ever return home again. When I cited the level of racism you encounter on line on forums such as this one, it wasn't to suggest that Thais are reading Aseannow (although there is an easily accessible translation function which makes this entirely possible and I am sure there are plenty of Thais who do on occasion read this forum). I cited the level of racism on this forum as a barometer for the racial attitudes towards Indians and Middle-Easterners in expat dense communities such as Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, etc. Do you really think that someone who is bashing Indians or Middle-Easterners or Africans every time one of them commits a misdeed isn't doing the same over the dinner table when they're talking to their wife or girlfriend? If someone is thinking about claiming they've never noticed any prejudice voiced towards these groups, they need look no further than here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1338376-pakistani-tourist-robbed-by-scam-artists-during-first-pattaya-visit/page/2/ (which is an extremely tame example.) What I found most ironic and REVEALING is that the same people who have been most triggered by my comments are (with perhaps one or two exceptions) the very same people who make derogatory comments on a regular basis on this forum about racial minorities, bleat on about the great replacement theory, love Donald Trump, hate BLM, squawk on and on about woke-ism and political correctness, etc. It's like they are desperate to believe that Thais are as racist, if not more so, as they are in order to validate their beliefs and absolve themselves of any responsibility for the role they play in promulgating these prejudices and beliefs. -

Thailand: Where white LOSERS that can’t get LAID go
First of all, she is OnlyFans "creator" and knows exactly what she is doing posting these videos. Secondly, women like this who talk chit are literally begging to be roughed up. You don't have to be Alpha and you don't have to be young. You just have to know how to talk the talk. -

Violent Brawl Between Drunk Australian Tourists Shocks Pattaya
Actually Pom is almost a term of endearment in Australia as is bastard but nowhere near as insulting as the N word. Australians are not as ignorant of their history as some other western nations that consider themselves superior, so we know most of us originate from the UK or Europe. We speak and know how to spell the Queens English. We also know our govt lied to attract British migrants turning them into "whinging poms". Australians dont tend to put sh*t on ourselves or our forefathers so no, you are incorrect in saying Pom is a "derogitry" term and to describe it as such considering the facts, makes no sense at all. My father was a Cockney and my best mate came from Liverpool but we still called english people Poms as did they. Could you not raise the 1 pound required for assisted migration and so missed out? -

Dog's Loud Barking Drives Neighbour to Shoot Woman Next Door
At least the dog is OK. I have three dogs living next door to me, and sometimes at night, they bark. A lot. And it can be annoying. When I check the CCTV, it is usually because someone (or another dog) is walking around the area. I am happy for the dogs to bark. Now and again (very rare), someone in the area has money stolen from their house. No one in the street where I live has had anything stolen. Bark away doggies and thank you for protecting the neighbourhood.. -

Walz didn’t order Minnesota schools to put tampons in boys’ bathrooms or sign a bill requiring tampons to be put in all boys’ bathrooms. That’s not what the bill signed by Walz in 2023 actually says — and it’s not how the 15 Minnesota school districts say they have implemented the law. The law, intended to make sure students of all income levels and gender identities have ready access to menstrual products, says school districts and charter schools must make menstrual products like tampons and pads available at no cost “to all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12 according to a plan developed by the school district.” The law never specifies that the menstrual products must be put in “boys’ bathrooms,” and it allows school districts to decide what counts as a bathroom “regularly used by students.” Districts are permitted to provide menstrual products in bathrooms for students of any gender, which are often single-stall rooms, rather than in their traditional multi-stall bathrooms for boys. All 15 of the districts that responded Friday to a survey of 25 districts, including the Minneapolis and St. Paul districts in the state’s two most populous cities, said they comply with the law without providing tampons in traditional boys’ bathrooms. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas/politifact/article/fact-check-tim-walz-tampons-19660855.php -

Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach
Passengers on flights arriving from India should be given leaflets explaining that defecating or urinating in public is NOT done in Thailand. In India it is common place, of course. -
