I got all the Aquarius episodes from Kickass. I'm on 9 now. I had to stop for a day, to get some fresh air and sunshine!!

Yeah I pulled the plug at Episode 8, wouldn't have gotten any sleep... I'll strap myself back in tonight if there's nothing else on...

I know it is loosely based on Manson and his exploits, but, I wonder actually how close it is to the real deal blink.png e.g if the lawyer thing actually happened, then <deleted> me, Manson surely goes to top of the "Top Psychopath's of our time" list...

Speaking of psychopath's, I see this season of Hannibal will be set in Paris... ooh la la...

I dl'd the first two episodes of Aquarius yesterday. I quit watching after 19 minutes, and sent the episodes back into the ether. No disrespect meant to those who think this is good stuff...to each his own. I kept thinking about the real Manson story, as told to perfection on Vincent Bugliosi's all time great book, Helter Skelter, and also Ed Sanders' even wilder account, The Family. There was a mini series years ago that stayed very close to the factual account, and it was also called Helter Skelter. If it's still out there, it is definitely worth a look.

Charles Manson, slowly rotting away in a California prison, continues to somehow keep himself alive in the "celebrity" obsessed media. There is still a group of deluded disciples of this old fiend/pimp/con man out there. I think there is great potential harm in adding to his "legend" with this TV fiction. The Manson depicted in the series is a much more physically attractive character than real life Charlie ever was, and he sings better too. And what is with that "Southern" accent? Manson sounds nothing like that.

I'll bet Manson is reveling in this new attention. Earth will be a better place when he is placed in an unmarked grave.

Movie - McFarland, USA

Nothing great but pretty good.

Agree with the IMDB rating of 7.5.

IMDB: A struggling coach and teacher who has been had to move around for different incidents in his career finally comes to one of the poorest cities in America- McFarland, California. There he discovers buried potential among several high school boys and slowly turns them into championship runners and brings them closer than even he could ever imagine.

+1. Very enjoyable movie.

Oh and Royal Pains kicked off again as well, forgot how much I enjoyed this show..

Thanks for that reminder, I nearly forgotten about that show as I also enjoyed it. Need to find a way to keep track of all the series I've been watching and forgot about after a season end due to the long wait for start of the next season. Been keeping separate directories of the series I've been watching and delete all but the last one as a bookmark reminder now.

UnReal.. A look inside what it's like to be on the set of s reality TV show.. Based on a fictitious version of "The Bachelor" we're getting what appears to be an inside look at what it's like to produce a reality TV show...

One episode in, I'm liking it...

Me 2 ,looks like a sharp shooting script, aka early and mid suits , a slight jumble of characters and lack of definition , but realistically its just the first episode and sort of points me to that i want to know more about ALL.

If anyone comes across this documentary film about Iraq, please let me know. I'm keen to see this one. It is from Australian journalist Michael Ware.

Only the Dead

Not sure if it has been shown elsewhere, but it premiere's in Oz on 10 June so will probably be a while

before it's available.

Will keep an eye out for it.

Yeah that's what I was doing, but then I just book marked the website (ensuring that it's sorted to show the newest file first) that I download the shows from and that's served the same purpose..

It only becomes an issue when I travel overseas and don't enjoy the benefits of unlimited access so then have to hunt down the last show I downloaded... That and with the demise of EZTV it might become a little more annoying :P

It is ok, just have to be sure you use the right one. smile.png They did go under new management and screwed up a few things but those seem to be getting sorted out.

Ahhh... So it is... Last week it was on the fritz and I had a look around and read that they'd pulled the pin as they'd been 'taken over' and it was more of a hostile take over...

Everything looks in order now so that's just swell :)

  1. The Whispers
Episode 1 just out. A new Spielberg work about Aliens coming to invade earth. Not sure what to make of this one yet.
When children across Washington, D.C., all start talking with the same imaginary friend named Drill, who persuades them to play dangerous games, the FBI calls in child specialist Claire Bennigan -- whose deaf son has been speaking to Drill, unbeknownst to her -- to investigate. Meanwhile, the defense department sends Wes Lawrence to the Sahara Desert, where he encounters a strange geological phenomenon. As puzzle pieces come together, creating a frightening picture, humanity must wage a battle against unseen forces if it hopes to survive.

Liked the plot, disliked (parts of) the execution.

I mean, do mothers really have to be Über-moms all the time? And does the music always have to be loud and dripping of emotion? But the "games" were rather evil, I must admit.

It can still go down the wrong path but all in all I think they threw in a sufficient amount of mysteries and puzzles to wonder how it is all connected.

Survivor

This is truly a stinker of a movie. I like this style of movie. 'Spy/thriller/action, brilliant young agent foils terrorist plot against all the odds.'

The first BIG problem of the movie is the lead role Milla jovovich (Resident Evil Series) She is awful. Impossible to take seriously and believe. Next is the script. This is a mish mash of story lines borrowed from a dozen different movies. The script writers have searched high and low for every conceivable cliche and worn plot line that is available and inserted them here. Each minute brings a new one. There is nothing original here. I could envisage crowds of cinema goers leaving the cinema to buy rotten tomatoes and come back inside to throw them at the screen.

What further infuriates, is the re-hashed plot lines have been borrowed from movies 10-15 years old! It is like the group of script writers got stoned and watched a week long marathon of action/spy/thriller movies from the 1990s, then wrote this movie in half an hour.

This could be destined to become a classic for being one of the most awful Spy/thriller films of all time

0/10 from me

Bugger... Just watched the preview before downloading it... Admittedly with the sound... But it looked ok and clicked to download it... Now the conundrum here is, do I punish myself and watch it to agree with BM or do I cancel the download and save myself the hassle... Decisions decisions...

EDIT:- No sooner had I clicked "Post Reply" I got the "Download Complete" notification.. Decision solved...

Right on!

Season 2 is supposed to start in early 2016 (13 episodes). No surprise, I'd say.

But there is this question that this critic asked some time ago and it is bugging me since then:

"Would you watch the show, if you did not miss "Breaking Bad" so much?"

I don't know. Would I ??? Anyway, I am looking forward to the second season.

Well I decided to bring out on HBO's "True Detective" - Matthew McConaughy and Woody Harrelson's baby... Both taking lead roles in the first season..

Bloody hell, not a half bad job.. Twisted as.. But compelling watching..

Season 2 is kicking off soon with a host of other Hollywood A-listers (Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughan, Rachel McAdams) taking over this season..

I did not know about the choice of actors. Are they not more in comedy than in drama? Interesting!

Mr. Robot...Strong, Promising Start!

I agree wholeheartedly with the praise this new series has received. USA Network has pulled out all the stops! The opening episode is as strong as I've ever seen in any new series. Rami Malek is perfect as the twitchy little anonymous nerd in the hoodie. ("I'm just a tech.") The condemnation, and actions taken against "the 1% of the 1%, the guys you never heard of, who run everything"...well, I'm surprised this show ever got made.

I love Mr. "fsociety" and his Master Plan to set things right. Of course, The Plan has potential for universal harm and suffering as well.

Too early for a real review, but I love it, so far. The only way they can ruin it is to cop out and say it's all an hallucination.

Yep interesting opening episode, quirky lead charecter and an array of 'norms' to balance it out, can it keep us enthralled , personally I've got doubts ,IMO he's going into forced undercover but he wants to 'bring them down' so he's gonna be playing one of against the other and its gonna be a series of 'nail biting' near miss' culminating in ??? But we'll c. EDIT oh and no spoiler shouts cos it's just an opinion,,,

A touch short on decent tv atm so been digging bac and came up with these, not far into either tbh, but after one episode each i'm gonna carry on

a plus for each is the channels they are on

Starz , power overall not good reviews and some early stiffness and predictable cliques so its maybe maybe not but a series two looms so lets hope.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/power/s01/

Fx's 'tyrant' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2568204/

anyone watch them? thoughts?
