oldwelshman Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 Hi. I searched threads and only found old posts. Anyone know where I could buy preferably used ( but would stretch to new) machine shop flat bed planer/spindle moulder as I want to do some DIY work with timber we have. I am in Thungpho, Nadi near Kabinburi.
sometimewoodworker Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Best general area: Wood street Bangkok for wood, wood working tools and equipment, from hand tools to heavy workshop equipment. Thaicarpenter, online and Nakon Prathom: very helpful, make some unique items at good prices. Router table, table saw using a portable circular saw, and very good Youtube instruction movies (Thai only) you can also search for Bigwood online

kamalabob2 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Big Wood is an affordable brand of wood working tools that I have seen in Buriram province. Jet is another brand of woodworking tools sold in Thailand. 1

The BigWood tools are good value for money though not cheap, I'm lusting after a 20” bandsaw from them, Jet tools are typical lower end models. I would not buy big tools from the likes of Global House, DoHome, Thai Wasted, as you will not get any backup from them.

They sell quite a bit in the US through MSC industry. 20” is a good sized saw...

For example the table saw that is available is the JTS-10 a hobby rated bench saw fitted with a 1,500W braked brush motor, the thicknessers are again lunch box units with brushed motors, great for keeping people out of the workshop as the noise level is quite significant.
