Parts of Hua Hin and Cha Am without water Thursday - Pranburi also affected

The Provincial Waterworks Authority has announced that several areas of Hua Hin, Cha-Am and Pranburi will be affected when water supply will be interrupted on Thursday between 9 am and 3.30pm.

The reason is yearly maintenance of an electrical transformer.

Affected with no water in Hua Hin are Thap Tai and Hin Lek Fai sub-districts.

Similarly affected in Cha-Am are Sam Phra Ya sub-district and Silapakorn University.

The Pranburi area could also be affected by poor water pressure in Moo Ban Nong Hoi and Wang Phong sub-district by the Thanarat Camp.

When flow resumes residents may experience some cloudy water and grit in the supply for a while.

A number was issued for people to call if necessary : 03 262 2073.

Oh jeez. Have these people no common sense or training in public health best practices? If there is grit and cloudiness it means that the water line is contaminated and the water cannot be considered potable, and perhaps not even safe for use, until the water is tested several times to ensure that the water is not contaminated with bacteria, viruses and parasites due to the breach.

The recommended public health practice for a disruption of this size is to close the valve a distance down from the breach and to flush the pipe out with clean water. There shouldn't be any "grit" i.e. dirt if the pipe has been properly flushed.

When we were on town water this was a daily occurrence !!!!!

We use Pranburi water now......... far superior.......Not without the odd problem, granted, but much cleaner, and cheaper !!!!

Geez...remember the rant from me a while back about no water....Well nothing changed except for the 5 days over Songkran when we had full pressure ALL DAY (24hrs)....Funny that hey?

Well we still only receive a dribble through our taps months on from when it started...

Hua Hin is lucky, they are only going to loose water for a few hours....but then again we were informed that it would only last a "Couple of days" when the crap started....4 months later !!!...same same.

We live in Tha Yang

60K north of Hua Hin
25K north of Cha Am

won't effect us, We have our own river ?

But still our water will completely stop several times
a month without warning and be off any where from
2 hours to 2 days ?
gotten used to this since been in Thailand 12 yrs now

We bought several large plastic 50 gal containers. We
keep 2each in both bathrooms and 2 in kitchen. Helps
with flushing toilet. shower, washing dishes etc. Plus
we have a large 20 gal clear plastic container we fill
with filtered drinking water

After 12 years in Thailand water off, electric off and
stays off 2hrs to several days seems like normal stuff
... besides it will not help to complain to anyone ...
complaining means nothing and is ignored .... however
since the wife started calling electric company (they
are not even aware electric is off) electricity seems to
come back sooner
