Rayong gold shop robber shoots himself dead as police close in at Pathum Thani hotel

Police hunting for a gold shop robber known by the nickname "K Khao Noi" discovered he had checked into a resort hotel in Lam Lukka district of Pathum Thani yesterday afternoon.

 

As cops surrounded the area a shot was heard. His real name was Poramet, 41, and he had apparently shot himself with a .38 gun.

 

There were fears that Poramet had explosives with him so his body was dragged out of the room.

 

No explosives were found. There was just a bag and a quantity of gold jewelry.

 

Earlier cops had arrested his accomplice Prasert or "Ja Sert", 59.

 

The pair were responsible for stealing gold jewely and 230,000 baht in cash from the Yaowarat Krung Thep gold shop at Big C on Route 36 in Rayong.

At least he fixed the problem. Now he can´t use the gold and money that he made a criminal act to steal.
Sometimes you do wonder about the brainfuction regarding some individuals.

Only one shot ? Better shot than most Thais then !

with a very long rope ,I hope,could have just put a pile of tyres around him,like they usually do.

I dunno,,,, 230 000 bht worth of booty. It comes out to about 7 000$ US and I wonder why Thais are stupid enough to risk their lives for so little. Think BIG if you're going to risk the time and your life.

The government should tell all criminals to do this.  Even less work to do for the police
