Better off dead than a stretch in a Thai prison. I am libertarian on drug use and this is just one more reason they should be legalized. The REAL drug  crimes are the punishments handed down for possession and use.

Agreed that its up to you what you choose to do too bad that its not the same for drug users (as long as they don't commit crimes for the drugs) Plenty of people can handle drugs (look at how many people can drink alcohol without becoming an alcoholic or dying from liver disease) but unfortunately there are some who do end up badly addicted. I just feel that does not mean it has to be barred for everyone. 

 

That said.. nobody should be forced to do drugs or looked down upon if they dont.. same goes the other way around

Yet you probably drink alcohol which is one of the most destructive drugs available.

You probably think alcohol is OK because it's legal and you probably think you are better than the people who take illegal drugs.

 

Truth is there's no real difference other than the legal aspect and people who requarly need to consume alcohol are also drug addicts.

You mostly see the end, but never how it all started. David was a diligent and honest man who never drank alcohol or used drugs. He was self-employed in Iceland and had saved money for his retirement. Then he met a Thai woman in Udonthani. She got preganant very fast and he married her because he felt responsible for his child. She took good care of his money and after a while nearly ALL his savings were gone. He divorced from her. The court couldn't help him to get the money back.

I suspect that he started selling drugs after his last savings had been used up. An experienced drug dealer would have reacted more calmly when the police arrived and would not have fled. Just keep cool and talk nice to the officers with an excuse („I am parking to do a mobile call“) or shoot them as the professional drugdealers would do.

We were friends since 2 years and met from time to time for lunch or diner. He never drunk alcohol or smoked. When I invited him and a countryman to a party in May, he canceled and admitted to have mental problems and not feel well. His biggest concern was that he was not allowed to see his daughter.

The report at https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-new ... e-12823169 is not well researched. With the mentioned Maen, 47 years old, he was not officially married. She was his girlfriend, whom he met after the divorce. The child pictured in the photo is from his divorced wife.

The one who never have made any mistakes can throw the first stone…. 

 

Like you, me and everyone else he was not born this way means it also exist a person behind those mistakes. Noone lives a long life without to make any mistakes small or big, but the most of us are given a 2-nd chance.

 

Unfortunately David was never given one as he died in the accident, but it doesnt mean he should be remembered for the mistakes only. I am sure his family and friends who knew the guy behind the mistakes have other memories.

A man who started life out and remained led and reasonably honest life , made a serious decision to try to amend his mistake by making another mistake consciously . His choices appear to have been limited, although anyone here who will not return to his home country , for a myriad of reasons has something to hide. 

A sad ending to an allegedly good life, sad knowing so many people he failed to seek advice or assistance.
