Maico 685 2022

82 HP 110 Kg

Optional street legal package

Great urban bike for outrunning cops.  I rode a Maico 400 for about 5 minutes circa 1973.  Scary powerful for the time.

The 1973 Maico 400 used a 386 CC air cooled two stroke single cylinder motor that made 44 HP with a 4 speed transmission and total weight of 216 LBS.

Just imagine that same bike with double the HP !!!

Another on the list of bikes I wish would come here - altho' no market for them.

But what fun they were when they came on the pipe !

Hodaka 125 Wombat enduro bike.  I wish these type of bikes were more available these days.  Relatively cheap, small and light but very functional.  I liked my Suzuki TS125 in Thailand in 1977.

Know Hodaka well. Here's my Super Rat from 1971. They sure were fun back in the day!

Trask has this engine tuned to deliver upwards of 300 hp and 280 lb /ft of torque. Still think Harleys are slow?

What is the point?

Drag racing?

What times does it turn?

Can you get 300 hp to hook up with one tire? I doubt it. I will file it in my engineering exercise folder. Triumph Rocket 3 has a bigger rear tire.

Although it would be faster than my Zoomer.

I had an R5 back in the '70s and an RZ350 in the '80s.

R5, nice, a classic for sure. I had a 77' RD 400 and have been a 2-stroke addict since then. 85' RZ350 and numerous 2-stroke dirt bikes...

The R5 was great. I've always been partial to two-strokes. My RZ350 was also '85. Red and white. I've had four-strokes, too, but slightly larger bikes. '86 Kawasaki Ninja 600 and '88 BMW K75s.  Had dirt bikes late '60s and early '70s, mostly Hodakas.

Nice Bike. Mine is green.????

I think the green ones are faster. ????

I liked the green version, but bought it used - only 5 months old, 1,700 km, so color was not the decider.
