This thing was rare and used to fly. No sub liter Jap could keep up with it especially on twisties & roundabouts! Lots of carbon panels too. Was owned by BIL.

Nice bike those Lav's .. suffered from some dodgy electrics but that aside they were something a bit different .. And in the dark green they looked quite cool ..

Yeah I do too (ex Rd 350 AND RD 400 owner).

429k cash for a new one, plus Motodemic headlight plus Dart flyscreen plus Graves exhaust system, ECU flash and air filter, plus Yamaha Genuine accessories (Tm) alloy rear seat cowl...…..

Oh and you can't get the 60th anniversary Yellow Speed block paint job anymore, so add the paint job in to the price...

FYI, the bike has a Monster 696/796/1100 type tank. A plastic tank with removable (in this case proper aluminium) panels unlike the Ducati with removable PLASTIC panels.

There you go Guzz' a part British triple with a front drum

Yeah, brilliant innit? Lets be honest, the Laverda triple was the greatest thing since sliced bread at the time, and nobody has ever made a better air cooled 3 cylinder m/c engine.

ahaha numpty CB500 hahaha .. Wow the Yamaha looks cool in that colour scheme .. I ain't seen many of those XSR's about , I'll have to read up on 'em abit ..

I have spent hours & hours on You Tube and the net reading up about them, watching road tests, listening to different ex systems. Critics & journos rave about them. This 850 triple from Yamaha is often said to be the best road engine out there.

I really need to have a test ride on one. I think I want, nay need one. It's smaller brother the XSR700 gets rave reviews too.

359k for a S/H one with a full $1100 Akra system at a BKK dealers. 429k new.

47 years riding legal (& illegal) road bikes and working on them.

I have never owned a water cooled motorcycle, nor worked inside a water cooled engine.

Maybe it's time to get with the times (Luddite)....

Possibly the looniest of the lot .. MTT's 420RR .. Not a looker by any stretch of the imagination ( reminds me of a sperm whale from the front ) but as a road bike engineering exercise it will take some bettering .. And not many bikes can say they've got a Rolls Royce lump in 'em ( apart from the one above ) .. A-merican chat show host Jay Leno has the earlier version and recalled in an interview how his bike melted the front bumper of a car that pulled up too close behind him at a set of lights .. Way to go .. Vid's on you know who tube if any of you fella's want to see more .. Oh and checkout the redline ..

70's oddball's .? Suzuki's hugely complicated RE5 rotary complete with super cool 6 warning light instrument pod and DKW's much simpler take on the same idea .. A far easier to maintain and more fun bike to ride ..

You aint kidding!

Possibly the worst i've ever seen.

Jesus those two, especially the Suzuki (note metal flake paint job - so 70's) hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down.

The Yamaha (being a Yamaha) is only slightly better. I would imagine that those Wankel engines are pretty lacking in the character dept too.

My neighborback in Salf Londonistan used to ride a rotary Norton for the City Police Force. The rev counter had 2 sweeps, the first one between 0 - x,xxx, then it went back to 0 - xx,xxx again!!!!!

Yea sure the Suzook was ungainly if we're honest but the rotary concept was something they all looked ( not only bikes a lot of car manufacturers did the same ) but only Suzy and Yam' pursued it with Yam getting cold feet eventually about production .. Even Suzuki weren't exactly sure what it was when you remember the RE5 was sold right alongside their own GT750 a far better bike of the two .. The concept itself is not without its advantages and Mazda , chief Rotary cheerleaders haven't let the idea die but it was Suzook's way too complicated take on it that guaranteed it's failure when  compared to how it could be done which is where the DKW came in as the comparison .. though a looker that was not but being German whadya expect .. And Norton also had a dalliance with the idea that convinced Plod amongst others to operate some and not forgetting Steve Hislop's epic '92 Senior TT win on the Norton 588 Rotary .. The marmite instrument pod .? personally I think they're cool and along with the bikes thereselves now fetch a small fortune if you can find one ..

You guys should be ashamed for causing such heartache on a Sunday morning! Awesome bikes! #missthebikes

About five years ago my son on his 71 BMW R75 and I’m on Roadking

took a rideout to Temecula wineries (40+) with rolling hills and great

ride. We didn’t go for the wineries this time but have many times prior.

Rode through the area where wineries are located all the way to where wineries end. Not made it that far prior due to many tasting stops.

We saw an older bike sitting out front of the last winery and decided to check it out...it was a great find and made the day even better. The winery is about 60 mikes out of Los Angeles.

If you’re ever in Southern California it’s worth the trip. Link below

Are pictures of bikes at The winery.
