Yes, nicely done engineering on the motor.

However the most outrageous thing about that bike, is that a 500cc (or 600 or even 700cc!!) 2 stroke engine is in a stock Bantam rolling chassis !!!!

In the early -mid 80's, none of us owned cars, let alone drove them (i did'nt take my car license till i was 28), and everybody only rode old clapped out HD Sportsters or ex police Moto Guzzi T3's (auctioned off @50k miles -only just run in), Ducatis were even more unreliable than Brit stuff stock back then, so that was saying something, and our beloved Brit bikes. A lot of us ran smaller stuff to get thru the winters, to keep our Commandos, Bonnevilles, A10's pristine, ie stuff we were'nt particularly proud to be seen on down the pub. Mine was a horrible 3TA that i hated and only lasted one winter, but for 2-3 winters, what kept me going was the venerable Bantam. I had  bought a job lot of 4 or 5, inc complete basket cases, never spent any money on them, when something broke, just took it off another bike.... Great times...

Note, no Japanese motorcycles were harmed in this story. We were one of those groups that had a no Jap Bike policy amongst our midst.

Edit, just returned after another ban by the infamous TVG (ThaiVisaGestapo). Apparently my 9th.

Apparently you can have women haters, wife beaters, racists, thai bashers et al shilling their opinions all day long on this site, but if you bite, and i do bite, you are a very naughty boy....

If for some reason, you guys never hear from me again, fear not, i am alive and well, just banned from this shItty site forever....

I've also just noticed i'm approaching 3750 posts. In 7 years. Far far too many....

Whoa steady on Guzz' .. You're contributions are much appreciated by myself certainly on here mate particularly on Brit iron  .. Didn't know you've had a holiday but now you're back chill Bro' .. And the rest of the post about having an old nail for winter use is just what I used to do with an old MZ to save my RD .. I remember the G P O running Bantams all in red with leg shields and pannier bags but by the time I got into biking the Japanese were already starting to dominate the small bike market so the poor old Bant' was already at deaths door .. Keep it coming Guzz too early to go yet mate .. Oh and the beemer is cool ..

Not sure if someone showed this already (don't have the courage to read all the 14 pages).

I've always been amazed by this bike, the good old time when they really tried to push it, and do different things !

6 Cylinder 24 bloody valves on a 1966 250 CC engine / Top speed 150 MPH (240KMH) officially reached above 18,000 RPM, some people say 20,000 RPM, OH-MY !

Poor clutch !!! Damm look at these tiny wheels too !

Does it sounds like someone's ridding a formula 1 (course not the latter ones)  !? Hell yes !

IMHO.

Horrible. Just a horrible noise.

I appreciate the fantastic engineering that has gone on inside, but i have never liked the feel, character, soul, lack of torque, extreme high revs, of a multi cylinder motorcycle, 4 or 6. Hence my lack of appreciation of Jap 4's.

A 3 is acceptable, has the best traits of a 4 and a 2, and has that amazing offbeat lope just off idle. But you just can't beat a twin. IMHO.

Two completely different genres of twins, both equally iconic.

Yeah, i need to just stick to the 2 forums on here that interest me. This one, Motorcycles, and the other one, Farming.

I first came on this site to advertise some stuff 7 years ago, then got into the two forums mentioned above, then got those two daily newsletter updates and got sucked into reading some of them and the garbage replies, and before you know it i'm on +3k posts! Ridiculous.

Back on topic, some more Guzzi's;

That top one doesn't seem to have the same meaty rear swingarm/driveshaft housing as the green one or the Martini colours one in previous post .. Has it been converted to chain .? Its hard to tell from just the one side ..

I’m lusting after this....

Don’t do it. The Scrambler is all looks. It’s heavy, unbalanced and hard to control. And Ducati Thailand are the worst when it comes to service.

Monster is a much better go fast bike, and Multistrada is just a great all around bike.
