Extermination Company in Chum Phae (or Khon Kaen) ?

Featured Replies

Good day eh.

A friend of mine (seriously !) is having a house built near Chum Phae and they have already discovered an (ant ? termite ?) mound under the house !

Does anyone know of an extermination company in/around Chum Phae or maybe Khon Kaen ?

If not, any suggestions as to the best course of action (i.e. buying some super strong insecticide and flooding the area under the house with it) ?

Thanks (eh) !

On Chumphae frontage road opposite Bangkok Bank/police station there is shop with all the chemical stuff used in farming/pesticides.

The junior boss recommends the local brand seen below for termites.

It's "Chlorpyrifos" stuff.

It's not child's play to apply this stuff.

See the warning signs/recommendations.

Gloves, mask over mouth/nose, full face cover (can be a bike helmet with visor).

Ask the boss for advice.

I can't remember ever having seen a commercial exterminator company in Chumphae.

In Khon Kaen there is but you would need some persuasion and paying for the 160 km return for such a "tiny job".

Thanks. I've passed it on the the guy building the house. I was kind of surprised that the crew building the house didn't suggest something like this when they saw the first mound being built underneath.

I told buddy that stuff like this is probably handled by the local "handyman" in the village, but maybe someone at that store will know someone that knows how to use the stuff properly (and safely). Buddy's wife can sort that out I imagine.

When we build our house we has a termite control system installed , which was simply  some pipes with spray nozzles  and an outside access point where a pump can be attached for the exterminator to pump insecticide under the slab and around the foundation. If it is not too late, perhaps your friend can install such system. I don't know the cost because it was included in the price of the build, but I don't think it was expensive.

see black pipe and pipe sticking out at the side where an access point was installed

The construction company a lot of people use in Issan (pm me for their details) they also build all over Thailand.
always recommend installing termite control at the building stage.
Did your builder not mention this to you before you started?
It's not expensive.

Thanks guys, it's not me that is building the house though.

I've passed on your responses to the guy who is having the house built. He's away working and his wife is overseeing the construction.

Good information as well. I never thought about having a pest control system installed during the building phase and from the houses I've seen pics of being built over the last couple of years, not many other people (Thai or foreign) have either.
I'm guessing that it works just as well on ants and any other critters that may try to take up residence under a home (spiders, centipedes or other nasties).
