Thai police could show "Spiderman" a thing or two as "gold robber" taken down

Thai police caused quite a stir at a Chainat branch of Tesco Lotus yesterday as they took down a gold shop robber with a net.

No shots were fired and the robber was safely in custody due to the skills of the cops.

He had earlier robbed the shop, taken a hostage with a "sparta" knife and demanded to be provided with a getaway motorcycle.

Police reasoned that he must give up the hostage first and when he did they pounced with net and poles pinning the hapless robber to the hot daytime concrete outside the store.

Fortunately it was all a drill by Chainat station chief Pol Col Chatphimuk Meemuk to test the readiness of his men.

Sanook said that it was better than cartoon hero Spiderman renowned for keeping his city safe with magical powers.

Yes, I saw it one day when they were assisting some Eastern Europeans going on a fishing trip.

That´s wahat I´ve always said. They are just fishing for all from clues to suspects all the time.

Just out of curiousity, what's a "sparta" knife.

Something Spartacus would use, the BiB were just following on the Roman gladiator theme by using their nets.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

This needs to be flashed around the world to show tourists that their safety is in good hands in Thailand.

This is crap, I have seen Spiderman put a giant passenger ferry back together with webs after it had been cut in half by a lazer or something. And then he held it together while Ironman welded it. No way the cops could pull that off.

I think the cops could pull that off - well the ferry anyway, if it had been Thai welded.

As the passenger van drives by with :

325,000yaba pills

4,000 Oxycontin Tablets

20kg of hash

2,000,000 in US currency

And 500pkt. Cup noodles from Malaysia

The Bangkok butterfly police

Chainat, nowhere near Bangkok, but the net result of their efforts was that they got their man, just in practice of course.

Where do they keep these dog catching poles?   Doesnt look like very easy to bring to bear.  Can't fit in a car.

Here is a video of the Thai Police subduing a nutter with a knife.  The tool they use is called a Sasumata.
