"Very, very unlucky!": Python in toilet bites Thai woman on the bottom

Residents at a Chachoengsao block of flats face an uncertain future after a "three meter long python" bit a young woman on the bottom as she was sitting on her loo on Sunday.

 

The woman is in ICU after losing a considerable amount of blood.

 

Named only as "Ae" she tried to grab the unwelcome visitor that then bit her on her left hand and disappeared into the depths below.

 

Chacherngsao snake catches arrived on the scene and cleared up the blood then investigated but could not find the snake that they said must have been about three meters in length.

 

They looked under the five story block and determined that the python was still there somewhere and would have access to the toilets of the flats on the first and second floors.

 

This did nothing to allay the fears of Ae's neighbor Withayakorn Pornsingh, 43, who heard her screams and helped her get to hospital.

 

"I thought people were arguing at first," he said. "Then she showed me the blood.

 

He hoped something would be done to catch the snake and prevent further episodes as it could strike again.

Nature will find a way. I used to live on the third floor of a condo, did that stop the mosquitoes, like hell it did. Never found a snake but once found a 6" span spider in the shower room, and one of your ubiquitous cockroaches trying to make its way through the sink overrun filter. You can run, but you can't hide. Ha!

Not gonna lie... if a python came out of my toilet and bit me on the arse, I would have neither the composure nor the cojones (is there a Thai slang equivalent?) to then try to grab the thing...

Hmm, yes you would. If it only bit you on the arse, then you'd still have your cojones intact.

 

Was its' name " Monty " ?

Wonder how many viewers would attempt catch and release in a case like this?

 

To be fair the snake caught and released, but only because it couldn't get the prey round the S bend.

A couple of years ago I was on the Songserm ferry going from Phangan to Samui the toilets were downstairs along with a seating area , I was sitting with the wife near the toilets when a young Thai girl came out Knickers by her ankles shouting snake , I rushed in to see a Burmese python going down a hole at the back of the toilet by the way this was the old  Songserm it has been replaced by a newer one ?

Sorry , but how did you know it was burmese ...? Did it show a passport ? A burmese python in Thailand ... may be illegal ...?

Apologies to the lady, but this made me laugh out loud. Maybe I'm sick, I dunno. Hope the lady recovers quickly, both physically and mentally.

Could have been much worse she was lucky it was not a cobra 

And, it could have been much worse if it bit her in the other place.

Always a good idea to look into the toilet before sitting down, in the tropics. This woman was actually quite fortunate. Heard a story about a Western woman, visiting Chiang Mai years ago. She went to the toilet in the middle of the night, and sat down. Before she knew it a large gekko bit her in a very sensitive area. Her husband wrestled with the beast and finally got it off. She started bleeding profusely and he rushed her to the hospital. From what I heard, she bled out on the way. Not a pretty story. But a good lesson on how to properly sit on a toilet in this part of the world.

Hey, have some pity for the snake...must be horrifying to have something like that coming down at you ?

hmmm... 'Loose Lips Sinks Ships' maybe ?

I realise it's no comfort to this brave, lucky lady but I always thought that pythons were crushers, not biters.

 

Apparently, they're both and bite to capture but are non-venomous, and then crush to kill their prey.

A python is a non-venomous snake with only small teeth which will give no more than a couple of pin pricks. No anti-venom needed.

No... pythons are constrictors ie grab/bite & constrict their prey then swallow.

They are not poisonous.

probably your cojones would be the first hanging parts to enjoy for the Python, isn't it?

Sorry but it might have entered Thailand illegally,no visa on arrival,no fixed address,no resident permit,no work permit...oh that Burmese!!.. sorry couldn't resist either.....
