Someone please clarify.

Thai person gets 6 month visitor visa for a 3 or 4 week holiday.

Someone here is telling me that if they arrive in UK 3 days before the enter by day date they will only get 3 days in UK and will be told to fly back after 3 days.

I say BS, they will have no problem staying for amonth or so and flying back.

A few beers are at stake on this.

When you can confirm your post.

A UK 6 month visitor visa for UK is multi entry and each entry is for 180 days each time you arrive in UK.

So two days before the expiry date you get 180 days.

Same as my multi entry here, I get 90 days when I enter a day before the expiry date.

The website you posted is from USA and has a CNN logo/sponsorship related theme I would check the date of the day before I would believe anything from CNN

You are correct about the multiple entry part, however you CANNOT stay beyond the expiry date of the visa.

Ok, I'll pay half the beers. ??

If you have a 2 5 or 10 year visa then every entry up til expiry date is 180 days per visit.

So I was half right half wrong.

??

If you try and fly to the UK 3 days before the enter by date, or the start of the visa date unless the flight is three days, you won’t be allowed to fly and if you are lucky enough to board the plane, I doubt you'd be allowed to enter the UK.

If you enter the UK three days before the expiry date, if you don't leave before the visa expires you will have problems getting another visa as you will have broken the terms of the visa original visa. You will need a very good reason why you overstayed.

Even with a longer visa, you are not expected to be spending any more than 180 days per calendar year in the UK on any visitor visa.

And unlike here you for sure wouldn't get the visas/entries back to back two never mind 6.
