Demolition debris blocks traffic

PATTAYA:-- Debris from a building being demolished for encroaching on the South Pattaya canal spilled on to the Bali Hai interchange, blocking traffic, but causing no injuries.

 

Traffic was jammed until Pattaya crews cleared the roadway. No cars or other property was damaged.

 

The seven-story HBD House Co. structure was being demolished after being cited in July for encroaching on the canal zone.

 

HBD, which held titles for two land plots in South Pattaya, had won a permit for the building by saying it would be built on the plot not adjacent to the canal. But, in fact, the structure extended meters into the public land once completed.

 

Pattaya issued a demolition order in July and the owners tore down the building themselves.

I actually drove past this when it was lying across the road with bits flying in all directions and wondered then how it had been allowed to get on the road.

The much taller one across the road, there in the background...  next to go ??????

Some handy hardcore to sure up the new beach could be useful ? 

If that had happened in the UK the project manager, the site safety officer and others would be facing some serious charges...

All that needs to happen now, is that the rest of the Town is demolished to improve its International reputation.

Yes, but to be fair, in the UK ""Elf & Safety" would have something to say if you tied your shoelaces up the wrong way!
