Its a travesty using the words "White Lightning" and "Cider" in the same sentence........it's never been anywhere near an apple.

Come on, that stuff is for people who are so skint that they can't afford special brew.

I would drink white wine if it were not so expensive here in the LOS, so until the tax/duty situation changes I am stuck with Chang.

I did try to drink mekong and soda for a while, but it began to kill me, so I returned back to Chang beer.

When I'm in LOS it's Singha yeah I know you all think it's <deleted> but I like it.

A couple of Thai restaurants here in KL sell that Phuket beer. Not bad, got a kind of fruity flowery taste, but I don't think it is a session drink.

A few places here also serve draft Strongbow cider but at MR30 a pint (300 Baht) it's a tad expensive but hel_l it quenches the thirst.

I lost the lot . One of the lowest points in my life.

It was then, that i developed a taste for white lighting Cider.

Nice flavour.

Not had any for a few years, not even sure if its still on sale in the uk

Think it was about 8% by volume. It hit the spot. That’s for sure.

Thaiflyer1 is right, don’t know of any connection to real apples it ever had.

But tasted great.

Very fierce competition between one bushy and another who can make the best tea.

It`s a bit like some mamby pamby tea in the Uk where the tea bag is dipped into the cup.

I used to rent the spare room to a real doll from Fort William who used to mix white lightning and vodka.

Jeez, she could down that like it was going out fashion.

Had a sesh with her one night at home and was virtually comatose for 2 days after ; Thought that death was imminent.

She strolled out at 0830 to go to work looking like a million dollars.

Never touched the stuff since.

Jacks ok, sometimes have that at an airport, stright with one ice cube.

Theres a new favourite tipple for the young uns wher i live in Cumbria UK right now its called '' Cheeky Vimto n Vodka'' . My oldest boy (18) and his mates swear by it and is consumed by the gallon every weekend by them.

The recipe for this cheeky little cocktail is :- 1 part of the cheapest port available ( theres talk of a trip to Netto next weekend where its supposedly £2.99 a bottle)

3 parts Blue WKD ( dont try any other colour WKD apparently its crap)

1 splash of equally cheap and nasty vodka.

Served in a pint glass with ice ( if someone remembers to fill the ice cube tray on a Thursday night).

This is indeed if you leave out the vodka a really refreshing to easy to drink tipple that really does taste just like Vimto. Just beware of the purple lips and the stinking hangover!
