UEFA Champions League in Thailand - Blank screens beckoning

Featured Replies

Just checked listings both Bein connect and goal.com (who showed super cup and UCL Playoffs) nothing in their listings for UCL. If anyone had it, you would expect them to have announced it long before now, to get subs in.

Only slight slither of hope, is that PPTV have not released next week's schedule yet, so maybe, just maybe they might have something on offer.

If you search against DAZN Singapore you will see that they appear to be experiencing exactly the same issue as we may be in Thailand with negotiations reported to be still ongoing with the usual Singapore UCL tv suppliers.

Hopefully sense will prevail shortly if not in time for next weeks games despite the huge amount of cash DAZN appear to be throwing at it. My hope is that DAZN are concentrating on their most lucrative potential markets first.

It's weird. I thought the whole point of DAZN is that it is an online subscription service which they want to get people on board.

What would be the point of them (a) negotiating a deal with a Thai TV channel (although I wouldn't be complaining) or (b) putting the content on Goal.com

Apologies for being a complete technophobe but I would greatly appreciate an idiot proof guide as to how I can watch the UEFA Champions League games on goal.com this week on the assumption they are showing it for free.

Presumably I need to go onto  their Thai website as opposed to their UK website or their app and click on the particular game I want to watch but what do I do then?

Yes. You need to log in / register via social media, such as Facebook as Twitter, as well. Then you are good to watch any of the games. Will be interested to see if they have an on delay option.

Slightly off topic, can anyone recommend a simple and reliable app for watching smart phone content on a TV? Last time I tried one of these it didn't work properly...

Cheers

Thanks guys. I’ll have a trial run for five minutes of one of the early games at midnight tomorrow  before setting the alarm for 02.00 Thursday morning.

This says 404 page Sorry could not be found but could go to home page. Can’t see any links to watch a match. But unless there’s a catchup facility ,like Bein connect.it’s next to useless being mostly a 2am kick off.

Is ilikehd an option. I tried them for a trial a couple of years ago but didn’t think much of it and couldn’t chromecast to big tv. Bein is excellent in its functionality.

If you want to watch full replays of games check out https://footballorgin.com

Just make sure you don't ruin it by reading the news by mistake ?

I checked Truevisions website and onscreen schedule but couldn't see any mention of CL. Looks like ill have to use HDPrime then (was called ilikehd)..it's usually ok for use when games are not on Truevisions.

Yes,HdPrime now. Do they have on demand catch up and chromecast. I pay 199 baht month with Bein and always faultless. I recall 400 with HD prime and frequent issues? Don’t know if improved?

They do have 3 day catchup. And a 2-3 day pass costs pennies. It is a bit hit n miss but it served me well when i was recently working in Vietnam.

I am optimistic that my Skynet coverage from Myanmar will cover the bases here in Pattaya on BTV. Got plenty of internationals the last week or so, including England friendly v Switzerland. English commentaries and summarizers.

Optimism justified. Missed first half of Spurs game, didn't realise it was early start. Clive Tyldesley commentating. Liverpool straight after, Jonathon Pearce commentating.

Double helpings. Lovely.

Same feeds as the Vietnamese channels by the sound of it. Shame the Thais/Malaysians couldn't get their act together and beat off Goal/DAZN etc:saai:

Well last night’s experiment was an absolute disaster on goal.com.

I was able to watch about two minutes of the Spurs game before the streaming broke down and despite continuing to try for over two hours I only got about another two minutes of another game before the streaming went down again at which point I was absolutely fed up and went back to bed.

My internet speed whilst not fantastic and certainly nowhere near Bangkok standards is pretty good for my location.

Did anyone have better luck with goal.com or any other provider? I’m going to be seriously pissed off if I miss the game tonight.

This morning I used footballorigin.com on catch up suggested by an earlier poster. It worked really well on Liverpool match and first half of spurs match and even mirrored it via hdmi lead from iPad to the big tv screen ,but the second half was problematic and unwatchable ,as was the highlights program. I’ll try it again later but to begin with it was brilliant.

I also checked it out this morning, also on the Liverpool game, just to see if it works ok...1st half worked ok straight off but 2nd half ok with a bit of refreshing of the website.

Yeah it can be temperamental sometimes. One trick which can work is leaving on pause and letting the stream load up for a few mins. That can mean less chance of buffering as you are never streaming faster than it can load - if that makes sense.

I watched both the Spurs and Liverpool matches on goal.com without any problems, and with a good quality picture.  The commentary was hard to hear against the noise of the crowd, they didn't get the sound balanced correctly.

So help me out guys, just watch on Goal.com or football Origin for Free? Really? If so, Im running out right now to buy an HDMI cable!!!!!!!!!

Was it on catchup on goal.com. ? I can’t stay up for live coverage but like it the following morning

FWIW here is the ultimate owner of DAZN:

Leonard Blavatnik-

In the Sunday Times Rich List 2015, Blavatnik was listed as the UK's richest person,[37] with a fortune of £16.9 billion. Forbes ranks Blavatnik as the 16th richest in the world as of April 2015.

My Ajax supporting friend is furious, as he said he couldn't get the stream to work last night.

Many thanks to all and especially Bangkok Blue for the tip about social media registration which enabled me to watch the whole game uninterrupted on goal.com as opposed to the previous night’ disaster.

A couple of times ,both on man united matches, I’ve watched the first half after which you select second half but it’s showed the first half again.I tried the 'second source ' option but after selecting play it’s redirected me to a Japanese porn site!...or Lazada..?

Anyone else getting this.? Sometimes you have to reload and fast forward to the point you were previously in the match. I suppose by and large it works quite well given it’s free and there’s no alternative for champions league. For premier league my Bein connect app is most stable.
