Chiang Mai uni students warned! There's a photographer pervert on the loose

Attractive female university students in Chiang Mai have been warned there is a pervert posing as a photographer on the loose.

The warning from the head of a student union comes after hundreds of uni students have been approached and dozens have been touched up.

Some have even been subjected to requests for sex.

Student leader Worawut Phetdee, 28, put the warning online and it has caused quite a stir in the northern Thai capital, said Sanook who followed up on the story.

Worawut - who is also a photographer and videographer at Rajamangala Lanna Chiang Mai University of Technology - said that 400 young, attractive women from 12 universities had been approached by a man called "B".

He suspects that it is the same person who was active in similar circumstances some years ago.

He contacts potential victims through Facebook chat then proposes a fashion shoot. If students agree to meet him they are often indecently touched under the guise of photography and some are invited to commit sex acts or go for sex with the photographer.

He called for the man to stop this - he is giving the real photographers a bad name.

Worawut claimed there had already been at least 50 female victims.

One - referred to as "Orm", 19 - told Sanook that the man pestered her continually before she agreed to have her pictures taken for free.

Talk soon turned to sex chat when she met him and at one point he put his hand on her abdomen and started going lower. He pretended this was part of positioning her for a photo. This is when she called a stop to the photo shoot.

She said he had done this even though she had taken her boyfriend along.

The victims are deciding whether to take the matter further with the authorities, said Sanook.

Oh no, not in Chiang Mai.

Maybe they should extend the warning to unattractive girls as well. He may have to lower his standards now that the jig is up.

there is always someone who ruins it for the rest of us.:shock1::cheesy:

Ahh Yes, the old 'I'm a fashion photographer' ploy. It's been around since the 1950's at least. Let me develop your 'portfolio'.  I'll make you a star. Photographer? Say no more!  etc etc.

Did they all make peace signs at photo shoot or the duck face???......
