Advise wanted for leaking blender machines

Featured Replies

Hi there

hope this is in the right place

have been using Otto blenders in the shop to make ice drinks, but have found that they don't last long before they start to leak from the actual bearings sections

have phoned and e mailed Otto about replacement jugs but they don't seem to want to know, just seem to want us to buy new machines, but am on my 4 th machine in less than 2 years

the actual machines are fine, but the it's the jugs that fail

is there anyway that these could be sealed?

or if not, does anyone know where I could buy new jugs for the machines

thanks for any advice

Otto are the cheapest of the cheap, there will be no warranty for commercial use anyway.

Correct response, buy commercial grade machines.

Since this is DIY try taking apart the bearing and see if it's possible to replace the wear surfaces.

Not sure about the cheap though

paying between 1500 and 2,000 for them'have large 1500 watt motors so seem to be heavy duty

No problems with the machine itself, it just seems to be the bearing part

Have bought a different make from Makro, the dearest they do at around 3500, so will see if that lasts any longer

Buy a Philips. Only 600 watt, but it's a reliable brand. Perhaps there is a higher wattage available.

Have you ever removed the blade and cleaned the rubber gasket under it by removing the silver retaining ring on the underside then reassembled it?

Take a look on Lazada.  Commercial grade blenders seem to run over 20k here.  Even the model you have is not the most expensive Otto versions (which as said are home use type units - more powerful motor just means it can cut ice better - not that it is designed for daily usage in a shop).

It seems you are getting good value from what you have if they do the job - have you checked Ebay or person in US or other western country for buying spare containers?  Years ago was able to buy here (I think it was Otto) but next time needed was not.  Western countries are much more likely to have spare parts available (as people can actually make money selling them).
