Police step up hunt for "Sex in the Supermarket" couple

Police are stepping up the hunt for a couple filmed apparently having sex in the aisles of Big C.

A tech police spokesman Pol Col Siriwat Deephor said that men from his division were coordinating with Saraburi police in the hunt to find the miscreants.

Pol Col Siriwat said that the tech police were sent pictures of a woman it might be but though similar it was not her.

Big C said it happened on September 6th.

There have been suggestions that CCTV footage has now been erased though the date can be ascertained from the "promotions" on the shelves at the time of the sex.

Big C told the press to tell the public - don't share or face prosecution.

  • Nice to know that serious crime in the country is so low, that the police can dedicate so much time to this. Also find it quite amusing that they warn the press to tell the public not to share it

  • Lucky chap I say...lucky chap...I,m certainly looking forward to my next Big C visit.....

  • I will be going to big C later today, but i can assure you there will not be any sex involved. Surely this is a BIG joke, have the RTP NOTHING BETTER TO DO?

Nice to know that serious crime in the country is so low, that the police can dedicate so much time to this.

Also find it quite amusing that they warn the press to tell the public not to share it around, but in asking the press for help, they are actually sharing it themselves.

Searching for the lady just in case maybe there is "something in it for them"..........:cheesy:

This is a new so-called culture among young people to gain social media fame. Rarely do these people ever receive severe punishments for these acts, the police will just give them a lecture, then a wai, a 500 baht fine and an apology for disrespecting the Thai people.

The more outrageous, the more media attention they will receive which is what this is all about. If my memory serves me, last year a Thai couple went live on facebook having sex on a bridge and then the couple having sex in the back of a songthaew in full view on a public road. Also the young couple having sex by the counter in a Burger King in America.

This is a sad sign of the times, and until the courts start enforcing prison time with large fines, this won`t be the first of such incidents and certainly won`t be the last.

I bet Big Joke could solve this case!

At least they had the foresight to do it in the cleaning products aisle, so they were perfectly situated to clean up any mess they may have made. :cheesy:

I had a look a some news sites. There are censored shots of the girl walking around in the supermarket holding up her skirt to her navel exposing herself and another shot of the girl sitting on a stool in the supermarket, no underwear legs wide open.

Pretty bad behaviour I think, even for Thailand and probably kids able to see. What surprises me is why the couple were not detained by the store`s security and the police called? I`m sure this would have been the case if caught shoplifting.

Sure, people have been doing bad things since Adam and Eve took a bite of the apple, but unlike today it wasn`t a social media culture among young people that appears to be becoming an epidemic. It`s becoming a competition to see who can act the most outrageous in the social media popularity stakes claim to fame. The worse part is that it creates desensibility among children who will eventually consider these behaviours as acceptable.

As I said previously, a sad sign of the times.

Remember Streaking

<deleted>, what’s the big deal here.  Police time and effort would be better served out on the road reducing the crashes and fatality rate.  Don’t they know thailand has the highest road fatality rate in the world.

Meanwhile careless, irresponsible drivers on the sois & highways, dysfunctional families can be ignored.

This is nothing but a marketing promotion ad for Big C.

That's well may be, but I still don't want my Hob Nobs crushing.

What is this, are Big C offering in-store sex with girls as a promotion for every 2 packs of condoms bought? I think this is the type of publicity any store would prefer to avoid.

Considering, I think the guy rear ending the girl could be described as an irresponsible driver but certainly doesn`t seem to be dysfunctional.

Reminds me when Elton John got married and The Sun said in their headline that his boyfriend David was "taking him up the aisle".

Rooster

There is nothing new about this, its not a new culture or a social media thing it’s been going on for donkeys. Some people have short memories.

True. Couples have been having sex in my local supermarkets for years. So frequent now that I don`t even give them a second glance.

Seriously have to wonder that some people apparently think that 2 people having XXX Porn-style sex in a public supermarket (and filming/posting it online) isn't something that the police should be bothered with. And yes, from the pixelated pics that were shown - they were doing hardcore porn and leaving nothing to the imagination.

Oh no - the police should just ignore that kind of stuff because some people think it is perfectly acceptable to do in public places. (Or they wish it was). Let me guess - in your home country this kind of thing is legal, it happens all the time and the police just ignore it because they're too busy trying to catch people that park illegally in handicapped zones or cheat on their taxes.

I'm a little surprised that they haven't caught the couple (or the person that was filming it) yet. It seems the pics that were posted were blurred out before they were posted so making a positive ID will be difficult (unless someone confesses of course).
When they do catch them there will be tears and lots of "graaping" and probably some time spent in a temple to atone for their actions.

Looks like Big C may be on to a new sales gimmick!

Between the time that this 'heinous' crime happened and the time they apprehend the 'heinous' criminals, I wonder how many people will be killed and injured on Thai roads.

Just saying - what's more 'heinous'?  A couple screwing in public or aggressive drivers causing daily carnage on the roads?  It's a rhetorical question, I already know the answer.
