Thai ATM Visa/Mastercard accepted in KUL?

Featured Replies

Hi,

is it possible to get cash from ATMs with Thai debit cards in Kuala Lumpur?

Do hotels accept it? for deposit, the tourism tax ...

What's nice to see there in 2 days? authentic nice

Thank you

Yes, you can get cash from ATMs using Thai debit cards in Kuala Lumpur. Hotels prefer credit cards instead of debit cards as they can put a hold on it for the deposit. However, you can get around it by paying cash instead.

Have been at bank branches and they said have to call the service numbers of the banks. Did that, was asked some questions, and they activated my depit cards to use it in Malaysia for the period of time I have told them. So, without that, it is not possible.

Probably different bank, different policy. Kasikorn does not require calling before using its debit cards abroad.

ATMs might be a problem.

Recently I visited Cambodia and I asked my bank if I can use the ATMs over there.

They told me if I still have a 4 digit PIN then I will be able to use most ATMs. But (some?) new cards have 6 digit PINs and it seems they are a problem on many ATMs.
