Anti-Junta Rap Video Is ‘Abominable,’ Suthep Says

BANGKOK — The politician who organized the street protests which ushered in military rule said Sunday that a YouTube rap video criticizing the junta was “abominable.”

 

After threats of prosecution drew wide interest in anti-junta song “My Country’s Got” (“Prathet Ku Mee”) – it’s been watched 18 million times on YouTube alone as of Monday – Bangkok Shutdown protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban joined conservative politicians to harshly condemn the song.

Condemned through guilt perhaps?

 

Must really hurt these people when something such as this goes global and bites the a$$ out of their glass towers.

Clearly not a music lover, or lover of the truth either it would seem. The only thing abominable is the denial by such people of reality, so as to look after their vested interests.

I feel the music is abominable (dislike of rap), the message is good.

 

The fact that this dinosaur hats it will only make it more popular.

To say that the video is abominable surely means that he has watched it.

 

Computer crimes act for him.

He should learn French, and go though Jacques Brel's songs.. "The bourgeois are like pigs, the older they get, the dumber they become..". Actually he used the word "con" which means vagina, but has the milder meaning of "dork".

Brel was one of the greatest Belgians of all times, a giant.

Rap is abominable.  In 1987, I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn, Run DMC and ZZ Top at Aloha Stadium.  The military yahoos beat up all the rap lovers during Run DMC's set.  One of the best concerts I have attended.  'nuff said. 

Time for The Frog Whisperer and Mr Magoo to perform a duet to even out the ledger with the young whipper snappers.

It is people like Suthep who are destroying the the country, not the rappers.

So he's a music critic now?

Surgeon says the rappers aim to destroy their homeland.On the contrary, Lung Kamnan, the rappers aim to save the country by returning freedom to Thailand.

You yourself Suthep, are facing sedition charges from your abominable actions in closing down parts of Bangkok. You should be hanging your head in shame.

 

No pal whats abominable is your cheesy grin and  big  belly.

It is over. The Thailand that birthed these curmudgeons ended just over two years ago, the change may be fast or slow, but it's inevitable.

As is the grave... and no they won't come back for another go, even karma is done with them!

Say some more Suth' .. The more those who have the most to lose rage against it the more exposure , hits and listens it will get  .. 

He just doesn't get it. Young Thais love their country but are sick of corrupt old dinosaurs like him who think they have a right to lord over everyone with the army's backing.

thai youth practising their critical thinking skills. In any normal world, they would be praised.

Suthep , who has taken a break from working his way slowly around every sphincter in the junta with puckered lips , is not known for his love of criticism towards anybody other than Phua Thai and the Shinawatras. Therfore it seems reasonable that as neither of these are mentioned in the rap he would of course catch his breath to say it is abominable.

Suti is a blood, freedom, inspiration, fun sucking parasite .  Thank goodness for these young people

I would have thought the best song for the PM might be, "I am the very model of a modern Major-General" by Gilbert and Sullivan:

 

Suthep is angry because people prefer what passes for music over his clown shows.

“These days, all citizens are free to express their opinions in all aspects. So the authorities have to admit that we can’t limit the personal opinions of people, especially of the youth,” Maj. Gen. Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, who also heads the Immigration Bureau, wrote Sunday on Facebook. “This is their opinion, which the poo yai should listen to.”

 

 

Big Joke is looking for likes it seems. His previous statement sounded quite opposite.
