Mystery surrounds what happened at a resort in Si Khiw, Korat on Saturday night.

Police arrived to find bloodstains all over a room in the area of Ban Lat Bua Khao.

A man called Worawut, 29, had arrived at the nearby house of a Huk 31 rescue volunteer called Kittisak Saeng-arun, 41, at 1.30am.

Worawut said he saw the rescue vehicle outside Kittisak's house and so decided to seek help inside.

With him was a still conscious 16 year old girl called Sirasa. She appeared to be his girlfriend.

She had been shot in the neck and had lost a lot of blood.

Worawut asked Kittisak to take her to hospital in the rescue vehicle and said that he would follow on in his own vehicle after going to see his mum.

He disappeared and now police want to speak to him.

No weapon or casings were found at the scene of the shooting.

The victim is now in a serious condition in hospital.

What is a mystery with a Thai man making a runner? It´s more common than a mystery.

More details were reported today (29/10/18) in the Thai language today.line.me website where they interviewed the mothers of both the 16 year-old girl, Sirasa, and her 29 year-old boyfriend, Worawut.
Worawut's 48 year-old mother said he had been in prison 3-4 times already for drug offences. The last 2 1/2 year stretch involving possession of a gun and drugs.
The 37 year-old mother of Sirasa said her daughter had only known Worawut for about 3 days when she  arranged to meet him at a resort and planned to break up with him.
Sirasa said on hearing of her plans Worawut flew into a rage and began threatening her with a gun.
It accidentally went off in his hand, hitting one of his fingers, bouncing off the wall then hitting her in the neck.
The good news is that Sirasa's mother said she had visited her daughter in hospital today and her condition had greatly improved where she was now eating and drinking normally and expected her to be discharged in a couple of days to recuperate at home.
Sirasa's mother is urging the police to arrest and prosecute Worawut as a matter of some urgency.

And mum took him to the temple to tamboon?????   Maybe he suspected gf was two timing him and he was just trying to explain the wrongs of his suspicions to her when the gun went off by accident.   How many other likely scenarios are there?

OK, OK, so the later info was that she wanted to break up with him.......  and he was just trying to explain the wrongs of his suspicions to her when the gun went off by accident.

Damn Durn, I have become cynical!!!  Living here kinda does that to you.

A 16 year old girl is not a child in Thai-way-of-thinking, many rural village girls are already married and a mum at that age.

Well, a Mum anyway, usually without the marriage and frequently without the husband as well.   He is still living at home with Mummy and probably not working on anything except getting the next gf pregnant.

Probably still village-married, as a man will not get away with making a girl pregnant without paying compensation, and as the young girl's family shall not loose face the compensation will be a sin sot at a wedding party; but right with "mum anyway" and "without the husband", easy to get off an unregistered village marriage, and it often happens.
