Nimmanhaemin -- Meh!

Featured Replies

I was told by a friend that lives off Nimman that Oishi have bought up quite considerable tracts of land. I am beginning to wonder what happens to Chiang Mai after it is turned into one big shopping mall.

Totally agree, don't understand the dislike from miserable ex pats.

Maybe my memory is off, but I feel like Nimman had a pretty short run. There wasn't much going on before 2000, was there? It peaked sometime 2007-2010, and has been losing charm ever since. Nice while it lasted, but in the long view, just a flash in the pan, unfortunately.

Its not really like Chiang Mai is some massive urban metropolis where It takes hours to get anywhere either. Monday night last week I took a grab out to Riverside from Nimman, had some dinner then walked back to Nimman. I've come to learn that if you are going to be a city dweller in CM, living anywhere between Nimman and the River should easily allow you to do just about anything that's available in CM.
