webfact Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Apple opens first store in Thailand Saturday The glass facades allow for a seamless transition from the store to the river and the city. Bangkok — Apple Iconsiam will open Saturday in Bangkok on the shores of the Chao Phraya, welcoming both locals and visitors to experience the best of Apple in Thailand for the first time. The store will feature Apple’s full line of products including iPhone XS, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4, and will invite visitors to pursue their creative passions with free Today at Apple sessions. “Bangkok is a cultural and economic destination for the entire region and home to millions of passionate Apple customers,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “We are thrilled to introduce our Thai customers to Today at Apple, our full line of products, our phenomenal employees, and the service and support that are loved by customers around the world.” Free Today at Apple sessions, designed to inspire and educate visitors, take place in the Forum at Apple Iconsiam. Elevated above the “River of Kings” in the heart of Bangkok, Apple Iconsiam sits alongside storied sites and cultural landmarks. Seamlessly connecting the new mixed-use ICONSIAM Center to an outdoor roof terrace, the store’s clean, trapezoidal design lines and glass surfaces accentuate the natural beauty of its surroundings while creating an open, airy atmosphere effacing boundaries between interior and exterior. Apple Iconsiam features two expansive glass facades that create transparency through the store to the river, city and beyond. As customers walk in through a sweeping curve stone entry, their journey continues to the lush roof garden, where they can admire local art, participate in a Today at Apple photo or sketch walk, or simply enjoy iconic views of Bangkok. Customers can experience Apple’s products, in-store programming and services together in Thailand for the first time. Inside the store, a spacious Forum offers all of Apple’s free Today at Apple sessions, which inspire visitors to connect with one another, discover a new passion or take their skills to the next level. These hands-on sessions, led by Creative Pros, offer tools for all to explore their creative curiosity and learn to make the most of Apple products and services. Along the store’s Avenues, visitors can try out the latest Apple products elegantly displayed for maximum convenience and accessibility. A tree-lined Genius Grove mirrors the flora of the outdoor terrace and provides the setting for Apple’s Geniuses to offer personalized technical support and advice. More than 100 employees are ready to welcome customers on Saturday at 10 a.m. To sign up for Today at Apple sessions, visit apple.com/today. mfd101 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 How do you get there from the east side of the river? A boat from Taksin? 1
wgdanson Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Shall we be able to buy the re-mixed WHITE ALBUM there?
OneMoreFarang Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Yesterday I made a river cruise and I saw that monster Iconsiam. This think is big, I mean BIG. I have no idea how all the visitors should get there. And somehow I think nobody has an idea how that should work. Amazing Thailand! 1

A friend told me she read at some time there will be a SkyTrain station near there or in there. But it seems that is far away from finished. But even then I don't see how that will work. All the rich and famous won't be able to take their brand new cars with them in the SkyTrain. So how should they get there? HiSos standing in a crowded train together with all the "cattle"? 555! 1
mfd101 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 IF there is a boat (preferably from Taksin) I plan to use it. Otherwise will have to wait 10 years for the BTS extension, I guess.

There is a free shuttle boat from the Taksin pier. 2 hours ago, OneMoreFarang said: A friend told me she read at some time there will be a SkyTrain station near there or in there. Right now you can use the boat from Taksin pier or the free shuttle bus from I think Wongwien Yai or Krungthon buri BTS Station. I would not reccomend to use a car, as in daytime now there is already a Hugh traffic as they started with the new BTS line.
mfd101 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Excellent. Nice boat ride across & slightly upriver will be just fine. Lovely way to travel (as is the train - though not when it's so crowded you can barely breathe let alone move).
